Escape Survey

I received the Escape Survey and started filling it out until it got to my state of residence. No options for Canada and no option to skip the question.

They say they'll send out a new one to Canadians with Canadian options.

FWIW, I got to the end and it stated that I wasn't a good fit for the survey. I was told that they are sending out a new survey link.

I got an email saying that they'd fixed the link and Canadians could put in their province of residence.

Filled it out and, yup, I'm not a good fit for the survey either.

Talked to ETI again and she'll have Marketing take a look at the situation.

Being a two time Escape buyer and not putting down anything nasty the only thing that I can think of is that I answered the question "how likely are you to buy another Escape" with "not likely." Given my age and the life expectancy of my current trailer that seems reasonable.

Actually, I found the survey response sort of insulting. When you ask a diversified group to take a survey and then tell some that they're not a good fit why did they send the survey to all owners?

Hope they fix the situation. I don't like having my time wasted.

I answered that same question the same as you did

I didn't get booted. It must be my good looks and cheerful demeanor that got me by. Yeah, right.

Come at the question from their perspective. They aren't asking you if you think you are going to die before you buy your next trailer. They want to know if you are a 'gettable' sale.

So it doesn't have to be when the trailer you own wears out. Suppose it burns tomorrow, or is sucked up by a tornado, or is hit by a semi. Would you consider another Escape to replace it?

That's why "No" drops you from the survey.

Poor logic in my opinion. You can let people fill out a free survey and then not use the information if you don’t like the answer but few people like being told their response is of no value by the people asking the question.
Reminds of a parental comment
I have three kids and wouldn’t take a million dollars for any one of them but I wouldn’t give you ten bucks for another one.
Nobody feels bad about that.
When I was younger I was often approached about life insurance. When I got tired of listening to the pitch I’d ask “when you gonna close me” that was usually it. And when they said “Think about your wife’s future if you die tomorrow” I’d say “Well, we’ve talked that over and with her education I’m sure she can get a good job and get by without me and with her good looks is she decides not to work she will find a good man to support her” now if you tell me she’s not smart enough to get that job, I beat you up. And if you say she’s not pretty enough to get a new man, I beat you up. What’s it gonna be? I don’t like surveys, my business is my business.

My question to the question of answers is if anything you answer is a non-starter the surveys I take for miles and money they will kick me out when I hit the part. They don't let you finish and then say SORRY.

I finished the survey and hit SUBMIT when they said nope we don't need you.

True enough, and I'm not really trying to excuse that. That's a poor survey.

The question on 'would you buy one again?' is also somewhat poorly phrased, but I'm just suggesting that what they really mean there is "If you needed to purchase another trailer, would you consider an Escape again?"

Not.....do you think your going to die soon, or will you probably need at least one more trailer before you shuffle off this mortal coil?

The survey accepted my answers, then told me I won an Escape 23! Just kidding. It did accept my answers though.

Everybody knows the USA is the only country that matters.

(Just kidding of course!!!)

Ha.

Is there an incentive for doing free market research surveys for ETI or any company for that matter? Discount code, entered into a draw, anything?

I'm guessing I won't get a survey as I'm not the original owner. The original owner will get one and delete it.

Plus I'm in Canada so double whammy.

As a marketer who has administered surveys in the past, survey data needs to be statistically significant in order to use the results, to either publish them or validate them for decision making.

If you were not selected for the survey, you did not qualify or meet their criteria that ensures a statistically significant sample. That can be because they already had too many respondents in your age category, and their goal is to collect an even # of responses from all age categories, for example. It can also be because you live in a geographic area with too many current respondents, etc.

I hope this helps some folks feel better! It's nothing to take personally, but hopefully gives you more confidence in their data ("confidence" -- lil statistics joke there).

I got the same survey. I did get kind of lost on that question about buying another Escape, as I won’t receive My new Escape until December, and buying another one so soon, might be a stretch. I just checked the box that was, “Somewhat likely”!

It's one thing to get kicked out because you don't meet their categories. I take plenty of surveys and understand statistics I've taken a few classes on them. I have never been to the end of a survey before and asked to submit it and THEN been told sorry.

The problem may be in the application behinds the survey. I don't know what or why only that it happened.

My survey didn't have the question about purchasing another Escape in the future.

I did notice that they spelled Casita incorrectly.:ermm:
