Somebody here mentioned they are running out of room with the new units now sitting due to the border closure it is taking them an hour to move or pull from inventory. I see an inventory sale soon as the border opens.......

There will probably be a lot of inventory sales once this is over, I wouldn't want to be a seller of high ticket items of things that people can delay purchasing, think cars, trucks, motorhomes, trailers etc. I can't imagine many are going out test driving cars and trucks right now.

Since the dealerships are closed, they are offering to bring the vehicle to you for test drive as well as taking delivery.

Just came back from the Jeep/Ram/Dodge dealer after an oil change.

There must have been a hundred Wranglers on the lot, perhaps 30-40 Rams.

The showroom is, of course, closed. There are two widely scattered sales desks. The signs on the locked doors say to call or e-mail for an appointment/

Wouldn't want to be a commissioned car salesman these days.:(

This forum is not affiliated with Escape Trailers, other than the name. The factory may post here as well as read posts, but that is about it. Any issues you may have with the factory should be taken up with them direct, not here on the forum.

Good to know. Thanks!

Does escape ever reply to threads in regards to concerns or is it just to vent?

I thinks you will find that now they only post to announce or discuss new products or something they are organizing such as a rally.

If you have a beef about pricing, service, quality issues and the like they won't engage in that discussion and you will have to contact them directly. In the past when those kind of discussions got somewhat heated Reace would come on the forum and set the record straight so everyone knew how they were going to proceed going forward. That kind of thing doesn't seem to happen anymore.

I don't know much about the company but it's always sad to hear when a new owner takes over a business and starts to lose touch with customers, especially when that was a major attraction to the company before.

It would be difficult for anybody to continue with the high standard that Tammy and Reace maintained. I'm not the only one who got an email response to a query, at 10 pm on a Sunday.

I don't believe this is the case at all. I got to know Reace and Tammy very well over the years, and very much appreciate what they did business wise. Wonderful people. The thing is that the company they built was outgrowing what they could handle managing, and the hew owner group has had to make some changes. Their communication with customers is still very good. They are making lots of changes for the good of the company.

I have been quite happy with Escape's service since we bought in August 2018 even with all the changes. I emailed service a few weeks ago and they got back to me very quickly with answers. I see most of the changes as positive including all the new options for flooring, counters etc. as well as the maple interior, the 21 NE and soon the 23.
The one thing I am not sure of is the USD/CAD issue. I think they could do a better job of explaining that. Last year there was some talk of Escape expanding to the US for sales and maybe eventually manufacturing. Perhaps that is where this USD/CAD difference started? You can't be selling trailers in Texas for Canadian dollars I don't think.

That was the way it used to be and when you paid in US dollars you received benefit if the dollar was higher than Canadian. Now your contract is in US dollars regardless of the exchange rate. People want it the old way, that is until the gap closes and then the issue will resolve itself.

People want a *choice*, instead of being arbitrarily hosed. Fine to offer units in US$ and CAN$.

Not ok to sell in CAN$ to one class of people and not another. Discrimination. Which is wrong.

What I meant was if they had a store in Texas selling Escapes in Texas they would probably be selling in USD. Maybe that is what they were setting up? I'm just guessing.

But some here are saying that, "You can't sell Escape Trailers in Canada in American dollars"

No one is saying that. “People here” are saying, “Fine, sell Escape trailers in US$. But do not refuse to sell them to one category only of people in CAN$. Allow *all* customers to choose either of the currencies that you accept.”

Would you be singing a different tune if suddenly Escape decided that they would now only sell in US$ to everyone, instead of only Americans? And at the US$4000 premium price, of course.

That's coming, many companies are already doing it. Like I said we've been hosed for years, welcome to the club.

You are not a "category" of people, you are being sold trailers in your native currency. You take delivery in your native country. You take ownership in your native country.

If you took delivery and ownership in Canada then you would pay GST and PST which currently is 12% in BC so on a $40,000 trailer you would pay $4,800 cdn.
