Extra sewer hose

Hi, Preparing to pick up our new 5.0 in a couple of weeks... will be our first camper with gray/black tanks. I see it comes with a 20' sewer hose, and we opted for the extra hose holder, as I've read we'll want an additional hose. Are these hoses all 'universal' fittings? The extra holder is 70.5 inches, so just looking for recommendations on what sort of hose to buy? TIA

Yes, the bayonet twist style hose connection are universal with Escape and most other brand trailers. 20' or whatever length I have has always worked for me, but I've used it almost exclusively at a dump station and not at a full utility site with sewage hook-up.
Rhino is a name brand with good products.
Tom Tip.....fasten the caps with a small carabiner or other device to secure them closed. I had one open up and lost the hose somewhere down the road.

To clarify... the extra holder is 70 inches, not feet... but sounds like the included 20' hose is likely sufficient, at least for dump stations. We'll likely want to use the full hook up when available at a camp site, but hard to say how often we'll opt for those right now. Appreciate the tip on clamping!

Well, maybe I'm wrong on what this additional hose holder actually is...

And here's what it comes with stock:

The hose ETI provides will get you through to start. But…. It only has a fitting on the end that connects to the trailer, the other end is just the flexible pipe and when you place it in the dump pipe it can pop out and get all over - don’t ask.

We bought a 5' hose a few years ago and 90% of the time that's all we need at a dump station. 10-20' hoses are too hard to manage at a dump site. However, yesterday we had to add our 3' hose because we were a foot short.

We also have a 18" clear tube so you can see when dumping how well you're poop is degrading.

It is so much easier to dump with a 5' hose than a 20' hose and no comparison when it comes to rinsing the hose.

The 5' hose is bungee'd to the rear bumper, with caps on each end, so it's easy to get. The 3' hose is in a compartment also with appropriate caps on each end (the 5' hose also has caps) preventing any leakage. We have a 15' hose in the hose compartment that comes out once or twice a year.

I'll never dump with a 10' or longer hose again when it's not needed.

Food for thought,

Perry

Yup short is the way to go when you are at the dump station. One hose is about 5’ the other is about 15’ they both fit in the same hose holder the long one is accessible from the passenger side while the short one from the drivers side. I also use the cheap hose, I have a rhino but it sits in the loft of our garage I find it to stiff and bulky.

Related question... does the 5.0 have a black water flush inlet? Watching tutorial videos for tank maintenance, and I see references to the Rhino Blaster, but that is only if the camper doesn't have a flush inlet built-in.
