So a few months ago I purchased a neutral bonding plug for my 2011 Honda EU 2000 generator. With the plug in a 15A outlet and the trailer's power cord in the larger, "30A" outlet (yes, I know the Honda will only deliver about 13A continuously), the EMS read no errors and allowed the generator to power the trailer.
So I decided to try powering the trailer from my truck which has the 2KW version of the Power Pro On-Board generator. The EMS gave me the same error code (2) that it showed with Honda without the neutral bonding plug. It did not allow the truck to power the trailer. The EMS did show normal voltage and frequency.
When I inserted the neutral bond plug into the second 15A outlet, the truck reported a ground error and shut off the power to the truck bed outlets.
Before I found our Escape, I had used the truck to power our previous trailer, a Coachment Freedom Express, which did not have any form of EMS. Everything ran fine.
Has anyone tried powering their Escape from an F-150? Is there a work around to make the EMS happy? Thanks
