My inlaws had a cork floor in the kitchen of their home, and we wondered if it would be a suitable flooring material for our Escape. Now we know.

It seems soft to walk on, and has very good insulating qualities.

And, it looks fantastic too.
I would do it again in a trailer in a heartbeat.

Hmm. I wonder if we got the cork material to Escape whether it could be included in our build. It won't hurt to ask when we get down to finalizing our build list. I hope we can have a look at your floor at the Osooyos rally, Jim.

Not sure Reace would do it, as it is a bit more labour intensive than vinyl, but you could always ask. The suppliers link that I used is somewhere out your way. And, I would be more than glad to show it to anyone at the Rally. Quite a few last year came by to have a look at it too.

Easy enough to do afterward too if needed.

Glad to hear that Jim, love your floor and would love you to put the same in our 5.0 but guess I should wait until you retire and have more time but then you'll likely be out camping most of the time;D Also like your beverages exactly like my preferences - beer, red wine, scotch and dark rum!

The best option was solar. Love it. We have been back to the factory once to have the front storage box added, which has made a world od difference. We are contemplating another stop at the factory to have the closet turned into drawers, and have raised exterior lights added. I would not get the TV antenna added in hindsight, as we never use it. We also rarely use AC, but twice we REALLY needed it, and were glad we had it.

Very easy, once I removed all the trims, table, screen door etc, the vinyl took less than 5 minutes to remove. As mentioned in the thread baglo linked to, I did do a bit of leveling on the subfloor afterwards, before I glued down the cork.

But no doubt that my favorite after market accessory is the Umbra flip wall mount hooks. We had ETI mount them, and use them very day. I forget whose idea it was originally, but several trailers made in early 2012 had them.

Those are nice! Where did you have them mounted and was the wall reinforced to do so? Any pictures?

On our 17B we have hooks on the side if the closet by the door, the side if the refridgerator (also by the door)' and on the wall of the bathroom. They hold everything from towels to jackets to the dog leash. You can see a photo here.

Here is a pic of just a peek of the Umbra hooks in Egbert (upper left); they were mounted on the wardrobe cabinet (not reinforced) when I picked up the trailer at ETI. They are absolutely great and fit in so well with the interior finish. I bought a five-hook unit and Reace cut it into two pieces (three hooks + two hooks) and mounted them.

OK, as promised, pics of the bedlift for the 21 (sorry I'm not that great at loading multiple pics - can't make them come out right side up):

Anyway, the first pic is the lift with one arm installed. The kit comes with 2 arms. Dave added the board in pic 2 to position if correctly. The instructions say if the lid won't close move the base back in one to two inch increments!! I don't know how many holes they wanted us to drill but Dave moved the left arm back as far as he could and did not reinstall the second arm. (Pictures 3 and 4 are where the second arm was originally placed).

Works great, pops right open and stays up (and stays closed!).

Wonder if ETI would consider making this standard equipment? Very nice!!

Would also add a vote for the Umbra hooks. They match the finish work in the trailer very nicely. Kim ordered ours and Dave installed them during our orientation. Not cheap but worth the cost. We put them on the back side of the bathroom wall above the driver's side dinette seat. This lets us use the two optional drawers in the closet without a lot of clothing in the way. The drawers were also a plus...one for her and one for me. Nice place for keys, wallet, glasses, and other misc stuff that tends to wander.

I ask ETI for the bed lift and was told no, forget the reason. I can say the bed lift is easier with the 21 than it was with the 19……..

can not make out the lower attachment point. they sell these kits with dual lifts but in various sizes, "hit or miss" situation.

The hold open strut is a good idea... our door opens from the side, so it'd look a little different.
That under bed storage is huge - Tashi walked in through the access door when she was checking things out
of course so is all the other storage. I used 40 feet of 12" and 12 feet of 21" shelf liner in the overheads, cabinet shelves and drawers.

It does hold the mattress up. Although, with 2 arms, the hatch would not stay closed and it was pushing the hatch forward so it would not fit the opening when closed. Dave added the the boards between the frame for the lower attachment points, they included the blocks of wood for the upper attachments. Oh yes, the size was 'small'. Agree Paul - there is tons of storage under there - now we have 'easy access'.
