Turtle Wax Bug 'n' Tar is made for the job.
I'd think dryer sheets are abrasive and more costly in the end.

I have seen yours and others posting that Turtle Wax Bug 'n' Tar remover is the product to use for getting rid of bugs. I myself have never had a lot of success with it, especially for bugs that have baked on for awhile. I found that it does polish the bug spattered surface up nice, though. But maybe my experience is unique, and I am doing things incorrectly. Is there a secret to using this so that it does a good job of removing the bugs?

I've read in several places that dryer sheets are nothing more than wax-coated fabric. Subsequently, I use old cheesecloth with regular polishing wax to remove bugs. Works fine but in any case, a little elbow grease is necessary.

Mr Clean Majic Eraser pads work great.

I did purchase the turtle bug and tar remover, and it worked well even on a couple of grease spots on the trailer. What I did was wet the surface down with hot water, spray on, leave for a minute or two and rinse with hardly any scrubbing. Definitely a wax in it as it beads up when rinsing. Thanks for the suggestions, I watched a youtube video with dryer sheets and it also seemed to do the job. I think the main thing is get the gunk off in the first day or two or it might become part of the paint job!! Thanks for the suggestions.

That Mr. Clean Magic Eraser scares me to death. I used it on the vinyl where the table had rubbed the wall and the dirt just disappeared. I used it on the mold on the underside of the awning and it too disappeared, so there must be some chlorine in it. It works so well that I wonder what else it is doing.
Carefree says to use mild soap, water and a soft brush.
Since that doesn't really work, I asked Tammy and she said ( but hasn't tried it ) that Sunlight dish detergent is supposed to work.
I'm going to give it a shot now that I'm home, since I really want to rinse the awning after using the Magic Eraser. Don't want the awning to disappear.

Hi: dglasrud... Meguiar's Crystal wash works for me. At CTC it's over $10. At Wallo Mart in the US it's $4.50 ish. Don't come home without some. Alf

I used it on the Casita for bad spots for four years without any problems. Thats my story and I am sticking to it.
