Did my first Mod to my new 17b. Over all I am happy with how it turned out. I did a lot of research on which mount to get. Someone here recommended this "Mount It" bracket (sorry I can't remember who, but thanks). From my research and talking to Escape, the corner is about the only place that is reinforced to drill screws into. The only major problem is, when I fold it flat against the wall, it will stick out into the aisle. But It fits fine when I angle it. The mount allows for so many different positions. I will take it down when traveling, as I don't think it's study enough to leave up. BTW the TV is an Insignia from Best Buy. It is wifi, cable and HDMI ports. It also has bluetooth to connect head set to or portable speakers too. It was a Black Friday steal at $78 USD

I did not upgrade to the reinforced walls, but as Ron mentioned the corners are reinforced. It is the only place I could have place it. I really wanted to move if closer to the wall, but there was nothing to screw into. I did go with screws, but now I am wondering if I should have gone with bolts. It feels pretty solid for now. Ron, did you take out the fridge to get behind to use bolts?

On a 21C the closet is on the other side so access was easy. On my 19 it was on the partition by the stove, so again, accessible from both sides.

If the screws are sized correctly I wouldn't worry about them. We leave the TV in place full time but do two things to provide extra security. One is strap that comes from under the TV and fastens to the bulkhead and the other is to squeeze in a firm block of foam under the TV. Provides that extra bit of security when on rough roads.

Great Ideas Ron thanks.

I used a piece of ½" board to reinforce the inside of the thin cabinet wall, and a piece of ⅛" plywood on the outside, which enabled me to put a TV mount on the middle of the wall. See the photos in THIS THREAD, post no. 15.

You can make a hollow wall sturdy enough to use by drilling a hole, say 1/2", and inserting a 1/2" diameter tube that's flush with both sides' It's called a compression sleeve. Used all the time on boats where you don't want to crush the balsa or foam core. I'd use that rather than having a while heavy solid bulkhead.

A compression sleeve doesn't allow the thin plywood to deflect.

An easier way is to bridge an area, solid framing to solid framing with a piece of solid oak. Then attach whatever you need to mount on a solid surface to it.

I just learned something that will come in very useful in the future. I've Bookmarked it.
Thanks.
