Flashlights

Flashlights' R Us!

on my keychain, I have a Fenix E03R, usb c rechargable. tiny thing, surprisingly bright (500 lumens on high, 2 hours battery on 150 lumens).

in my top drawer across from the front door, I have a Fenix PD36R, also USB C rechargable and bright as all get out (2800 lumens on high), This is mainly for emergency use, like at a late night car accident (happens annually on the road outside my driveway).

in my top drawer is also a Petzl Actik Core headlight, that has both wide flood mode and bright spot mode, up to 600 lumens.

what someone said above, noname flashlights tend to have ridiculous lumens specifications which aren't physically possible. that 2800 lumen PD36R is as bright as a motorcycle high beam. I usually use it at a 150 or 350 lumen setting, where it has 19 hours or 8 hours battery life. the 2800 lumen turbo mode only runs 10 or 15 minutes then it gets hot and drops to 1000 lumens (still damn bright). It takes about 3 hours on USB C to fully recharge if its run completely down.

Thanks everyone, a little twist to my plan. My wife did a neighbor a favor and was rewarded with a $100 bass pro gift card. My search is moving to the products they carry and the Fenix PD 36R caught my eye. They also have a PD 35 for a little less but this will be my main light, not only for vision but as a tactical light weapon. I carry no weapons, besides a billy club and bear spray and figured something like this would be the first part of a stun and club attack. Never needed it in over 40 years of camping but better prepared than sorry.
As an aside I checked my bear spray "Frontiersman" brand and it is expired. Should I buy this brand again or does a better product exist.

This is my flashlight. Camping in our teardrop for the past 10-12 years (yes, I am actually unclear on the time and too lazy to figure it out properly) I've had a couple of different flashlights. The last one I purchased, the one I currently have, and my favorite to date is

800 Lumen Rechargeable

I like that it restarts at the last level used. I like that it is crazy bright on the highest setting. I like that it has a removable, rechargeable battery that, when not in the flashlight, has it's own USB C port for recharging. It's small but versatile and can, if one wants, project a very bright and tight beam. (It also doesn't cost a zillion dollars.)
