For Sale - 2019 21C Escape Travel Trailer & 2017 Toyota Tundra SR5 (optional)
With the realization that a continually increasing amount of our lives will be spent taking care of loved ones for the foreseeable future we have decided to sell our 21C Camper and Truck (optional). It would be a shame for them to sit unused. The camper was stored in heated storage all winters but one and was covered when stored outside regardless of season. The camper is in very good condition. The following is the original build sheet, a list of things that have changed since and a list of things that are included. The majority of the time the camper was used for dry camping in campgrounds. The remainder of the use was with hook ups and/or boondocking at trailheads. Approximately 12K miles on the trailer. The camper does not have an air conditioner but is air conditioner ready with preinstalled opening and wiring. The camper and truck are located near Springfield, IL. Both are titled in Wisconsin. Definitely able to provide orientation if buyers are new to Escape Campers. Price is $38K for Camper and $27K for truck.

Changes after purchase from Escape
All untreated wood surfaces and storage areas underneath the bed and bench seats were primed white with “Zinser” to prevent mold\mildew. Which has worked very well.
An IKEA Slat Bed is installed under the mattress further reducing condensation concerns. Also, this is a great location to store a long handled broom (etc).
Double magnetic latches have been added to storage doors that would pop open in transit and result in broken hinges. No doors have popped open since (for our intensity of transit) and we don’t tie them up.
The control head on the tongue jack has been rotated 90 degrees to allow the truck tailgate to be opened while still hitched to the trailer.
The front solar panel broke off the camper and was not replaced (additional commentary later).
A low flow shower head is installed.
The 2 burner stove was replaced on recall (it doesn’t have the leak concern).
A second “dump hose” storage tube installed underneath the rear.
Installed connection harness for battery maintainer routed out of battery vent.
Allows for easy hook up of the battery maintainer if storing inside, otherwise solar maintains batteries even through cover.

Front Solar Panel History/Information
The camper was purchased from Escape with two 170 watt solar panels and associated roof reinforcement, wiring and electronics, etc.
Shortly after 2 years of ownership, the 4 upright support mounting legs (supplied/installed by Escape) that supported the front solar panel failed in transit and the panel flew up over the camper and onto I70 in Colorado in front of Barb who was driving immediately behind the camper. The solar panel did not contact anything on the trailer (there was no damage to the trailer) and no one was hurt (phew).
Review of conflicting response\commentary from Escape, commentary and installation specification requirements from GoPower Solar and blog information it was clear that Escape had very serious issues with frequent (and more than one type) of front panel failures occurring with campers, likely due to design and installation deficiencies (possibly including not using GoPower materials and/or meeting their installation specifications). It seemed apparent Escape had been and was making several changes to their front solar panel installation methods on all models of campers. As our failure occurred shortly after the 2 year warranty was run out, Escape left us out in the cold even though they initially committed to replace the failed panel\mounting brackets.
Because there didn’t appear to be the ability to install a replacement panel within GoPower solar specifications and it didn’t appear that a reliable installation method would be certain for a few more years we opted to purchase a 100 watt Renogy portable panel with polarity reversing plug to use with the Zamp port we had Escape install on the original build.
Over the last three years we have used the portable 100 Watt panel in parallel with the remaining 170 watt rear panel two times. The first was to confirm that it was a good voltage match for the 170 watt panel and that it delivered expected amperage. The second was when we were parked in cloudy conditions with a tree partially covering the 170 watt roof panel. Outside of these two times, the single 170 watt roof panel has met our dry camping power needs (lighting, phone charging, daytime computer use and night time furnace).
Status - The wiring, mount locations and original supplied roof reinforcement for the front panel are still in place. Therefore, the camper is ready for an additional panel. The design and method of installation would be up to the new owner.
