Fridge monitor / thermometer

I've been using a Bios Weather Indoor/Outdoor thermometer to monitor my fridge, but I keep losing the connection between the remote and the monitor.
Worse, I've lost the instruction manual. Found some info online, but I don't know where the reset button is that is referred to.

I'm thinking of replacing it, but have to ask what quality brand have you used?

Acu-Rite. Cheap. Erratic. Not a lot of confidence in it.

I'd never used a remote monitor before. I'd previously thrown a thermometer in from time-to-time but with so many people monitoring their fridge I thought that I'd join the crowd. Just used it for the first time on a recent trip.

Bought an inexpensive LaCrosse at C. T. "outdoor" sender in fridge and base unit on table. Worked really well, never lost the signal.

Gave me a start at one point. It'd been recording freezer temps. Glanced at it later and it was 4 C ! Oh yah, my wife said, I forgot to tell you that I'd moved it to the fridge door.

We have the Lacrosse unit too. It's worked well for two years, easy on batteries, if the connection between the tow and camper are lost, it's a simple button push and hold for a second and the little radio broadcast symbol appears and searches and shortly the signal comes back. Readings are pretty much in agreement with the regular thermometer in fridge.
Saves opening the door. Has a trending arrow too.

Starting over for the third time ( removing all batteries ).

Same Accurite as Jim, 2 years and it's still ticking if that counts for anything. I use Lithium batteries in the sensors, supposedly last longer in the cold.

To read all the complaints, I did not think there was any cold in there. I wish we didn't like lettuce, I get tired of freezing it and having to buy more. Ought to start traveling with a rabbit.

To read all the complaints, I did not think there was any cold in there.

Maybe that's why I'm still on the 1st set of batteries.

My Accurite bit the dust after two years of service. It worked great if the sensors and receiver were inside the trailer but I could never get reliable readings while driving. This year I switched to the SensorPush at Amazon. It requires a smartphone and a free app but uses a newer version of Bluetooth. Readings now work from the car while driving.

I liked it so well that I bought a second, both connect to the same app and give very reliable readings up to 30 feet away.

Ive used the AcuRite wireless refrigerator thermometer many have suggested here, and while it looks like a good solution, I've been through 2 of them & both lose the connection between the sending units & receiver even though the base unit is only 3' from the refrigerator. The problem is the receiver holds the last data sent, so you don't know it is locked up until you do a reset.

If you use one of these, I suggest resetting it often to check that it is working.

We have an older version of one of these Oregon Scientific model. It has worked for many years - so far!

It can use up to 3 remote sensors, so we keep one in the refrigerator and one outside, then can also see inside the trailer temp and humidity on the base station. I keep it in the trailer during storage so I can monitor the humidity in it and run the little dehumidifier when needed.

I have not yet bought into the concept of buying a fridge thermometer, whether it is remote or wired. I still use the old-style method of monitoring fridge temperatures whereby I always keep a case of beer in the fridge, and every hour I open one up and do a taste test to confirm that the fridge is working properly. Works for me.
