I know a few of you travel with your pets. I thought a thread to show your furkid with the rest of us was in order.

Our current dog is Jasper, an Australian Shepherd who just turned 9 months old.

Jasper just loves the snow.

Yes, he has one prick ear. A detriment for conformation, but endearing to us. :D

And a puppy one for the fun of it.

Ahhh great pictures.
Our two fur kids are cats and they have not travelled with us ever.
They stay at home, we had the Boler and it was WAY too small for the litterbox etc..
Our one is such a wuss she would just hide and be a total neurotic mess!!!!

Now, just how did you manage to post the pix so they came up that big?

If you have your photos hosted somewhere like PhotoBucket, PBase, flickr, Zenfolio, or what I use, SmugMug, then you can insert them here.
What you do is:
-go to the hosting site and right click on the photo and click on 'Copy Image Location'
-in the reply box here click on the
img.gif
icon
-Paste the url you copied in Step 1 between the tags
And that is all their is too it.

The good thing for Jeff and his hosting this site, is that it does not use up his server space as the photo is actually hosted elsewhere and just linked to from here. When you attach as most do it actually saves the photo on the forums server.

We still would like to see photos of them. ;)

Oh I just love all these furkid photos! We are planning our trip out to BC in May to pick up our Escape 19' - to be ready on May 7th - and of course Gracie will come too. We live in Vermont, so it's a long trip. We are planning a longer one coming home via Utah, Arizona and Colorado, so hopefully we'll have some family photos to post when we get home in June. Ian and I are really enjoying this forum and 'meeting' all of you Escapees. It's really fun to read about your ideas and adventures. Maybe we'll see you on the road! Jenny

Gracie looks like a real sweetheart, Jenny. :)

It sounds like you are in for a long, but wonderful trip. Are you picking your trailer up on May 7, or some time after that. We are driving out (though only 10 hrs about for us) on May 8 to pick ours up, leaving fairly early so as to get there in decent time.

Yes we are leaving VT on April 30th and plan to be in Chilliwack early in the am of May 7th. It is an interesting challenge pairing down all the stuff we are used to having in our 17' Casita to fit in the 4Runner for the trip out there! We have been asking the Casita folks if they had any plans to enlarge their campers, but I guess they are too busy with the ones they make now. We are SO totally thrilled with Reace and Tammy and their seemingly endless patience with all our questions, and willingness to make things work for all of us 19' wannabees. Of course we are interested in the final dry weight, and hope we don't over strain our 4Runner! It has been so much fun anticipating this and planning the trip which will total nearly 8000 miles - according to our hours studying on the AAA trip site! We are taking 6 weeks in all. The first time we have had the courage to leave our little business - Ian is an artist blacksmith - for more than 2 weeks, but since things are so slow we are making lemonade out of this lemon! Maybe we'll meet you Jim, if we decide to go back on the 8th to the factory. We plan to spend a night nearby on the 7th to get to know Houdini - as Ian is calling our Escape artist.

I would think that your 4Runner would pull the 19 with no problem, even if the estimated dry weight of 2,600 lbs is exceeded a wee bit. Throwing a carrier on top of your tow would give you lots more room. We expect to pull into Escape at about 2PM local time, unless we get away before the planned 5AM Calgary departure. I fully understand leaving a small business you own for an extended time. I own a small business that does custom home building and renovations, and only during Christmas when we mostly shut down anyway, have taken just over 2 weeks off. Other then that it is usually just an extended weed, 10-11 days. I like your guys attitude regarding the slowing of business, might as well take advantage of it rather then just mope and moan.

We lost our beloved Goldie in Nov. 2006, at age 15, so this is the dog we camp with now. He actually belongs to my son, and we call him the rent-a-dog. He's a sweet one also and loves to camp and swim!

Cheryl, 15 years is a long life for a Golden. We lost one at 11 years old due to internal complications (probably kidney failure) about 16 years ago.

Rent-a-dog sounds something like grandchildren. That is how I look at my grandkids, kinda like rental units. I take them out, use them lots, treat them bad (ice cream for breakfast while camping isn't THAT bad, is it), and do all those things with them their parents say no to. Then at the end of our visit, I send them home for repair. ;D

Beautiful setting in that photo, where is it?

Jim,

We have a one-year-old granddaughter ~ can't wait 'till we can rent her for camping also! I'm already getting practice on the spoiling part...

That photo is a small lake (don't know if it has a name) that is a couple of miles down the trail behind Donner State Park. The mountains are somewhat hazy in that shot because there were a lot of fires last summer.

Here's another one from inside the Donner State Park campground.

Jim, thanks so much for your encouragement about the 4Runner. We do really think it will be OK, but it is nice to reassured.

Cheryl, your photos are wonderful. Where is Donner State Park? What a gorgeous place!

Thought I would add another photo of Jasper just to bump this thread up, and to get some of you other folks to post more photos of the furkids. :)

This photo was taken in our yard on Sunday, Jasper had a new rawhide bone given to him. Snow and food, his two favourite things. ;D

Unfortunately you have the kind of backwards because it's not a good thing for Jeff. You're on FiberglassRV as well and know the rules there and the reasons. The biggest reason is when those pictures go away... either the free hosting site goes kapute, or the owner of the pictures pulls the albums, you have now lost all the pictures here that might reference modifications, etc. When pictures are embedded you have them forever... you're only viewing one picture... and it's not moving across the lines from another server... hence the bandwidth hog definition (and Jeff pays for bandwidth... I think). It's even worse if someone is on dial up waiting for the picture to load.

But, I didn't come here to rant... I just come to read and hang out with my future comrades... as I have an Escape in my future!

Hi: All... Time out!!! I'm not in favour of the LARGESSE of the pic's either but it must be up to a moderator or Jeffz to prune them if necessary!
escape artist N.S. of Lake Erie ;)

Excellent information and caution. As someone who doesn't Twitter, or Blog and who lasted on FaceBook for one week, I've never stored my pix off-site. Mostly because I can't be bothered.

Is that under 140 words?
