Furnace control board

Our furnace quit working. I found a mud daubers nest in the outlet, cleaned it out but it still does nothing.
Found a great Utube video on trouble shooting. Bottom line: It has 13 volt power to the switch and to the control board.
Sail switch works and all electrical tests lead me to conclude I have a bad board.
Amazon has boards ranging from $111 for a Dometic board down to under 40 for a Chinese knockoff.
I think I will order this one:
Upgrade 31501 33488 33727 Circuit Board with Adapter Compatible with Atwood 31501, Replace for Dometic Hydro Flame Furnace Control Board 12V with Fan Control https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CM6HW3HP?psc=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_ct_05EM2YMFTCWNT88PHDJD&language=en-US
It gets good reviews - 53 of them. Ones that get better reviews have less than 10 reviews so I don’t trust them.
Buying direct from Dometic is not an option - they only sells to dealers.
The Dometic model on Amazon says it is a universal board - model 31501 but doesn’t list furnace models. All the others say they are also 31501 models. But none list my exact furnace - DFSAD12131
Any opinions or experience?
Also I’m going to buy a spare sail switch but Amazon only lists model 33082 that looks like mine. But mine is a model 33063.
Again they list furnaces but not my exact model.
I don’t want to buy from Escape due to time and tariffs. I could call a local RV dealer I guess but I bet they are much higher.
What have others had luck with?

Thanks,
Greg

Btw, here is the Utube link to the best troubleshooting video I found:

I would suggest you look at Dinosaur Electronics boards. I have replaced all my control boards such as Frig, furnace and water heater with them. There 50 Fan Plus is the one I purchased and should work for you, but go to their website to confirm. Amazon shows 992 reviews and I believe made in USA. Probably more expensive but you get what you pay for.

Ah

Ah, yes. Those were recommended by a professional on another website. But I couldn’t buy direct from them. Didn’t think to look for them on Amazon.
On their website they offer a standard three year warrantee. On Amazon they charge an extra $21.
I think I will buy that board.
Thank you very much.

Btw, even tho Amazon lists the Dinosaur board, the supplier only gives a 30 day warranty. I chose a supplier from Dinosaurs website - ASAP Advanced Service and Parts in Pennsylvania. They were $20 cheaper, included the factory 3 year warrantee and you get to talk to a real person.
They call their model the Fan 50 Plus Pins.
Thought others might like that info.

Also, I may have to make a mounting adapter. On my 2022 5.0 the Dometic board attaches with two screws at the bottom and the top two holes in the board are held by some angled plastic pins. I’m guessing those won’t work with the brass grommets on the Dinosaur board. My furnace model is a Dometic DFSAD12131.
I’ll post an update if and when I get it mounted.

I've purchased 2 Dinosaur boards from Amazon and all came with a 3 year factory warranty. Amazon vendors may only give a 30 day return/replacement warranty but that doesn't change the factory warranty. Recently I've found that with many purchases I make on Amazon, they try to get me to buy into "their extended warranty." I never buy those. While Amazon is convenient, it's nice to give other, often smaller, vendors a sale and I've found many ship faster than Amazon.

Just make sure you fill out and return the warranty card.

I have the same DFSAD12131 and I recall that unlike the OEM board the Dinosaur board has standoffs at the 4 screw holes in the PCB, and the board may be just a smidge larger. One corner was up against another component. With a little finagling the Dinosaur board fit fine although slightly longer screws would have been good to have has well since I often drive on dirt roads and boondock. I felt a little more bit might prevent them loosening from vibrations.

At least that's what I recall, good luck

Hey, initial update: Advanced Service and Parts called me back. They weren’t sure of a solution so they did a three way call with Dinosaur and he answered my question: Just carefully in a drill press take a bit that with cut away the very thin lip on the top of the grommet. Then pull the grommets out.
Wow, it’s wonderful dealing with a US company with real people who care. Similar to the wonderful people at Escape Trailers imho.
Big shout out to ASAP and Dinosaur.

Thanks for the info. I talked to a Dinosaur rep and he gave me a solution (see post after yours). Great customer service and $20 cheaper than Amazon.

I Actually thought of that but I don't have a drill press so I was concerned the drill bit might grab and twist the board.

A tiny dot of blue loctite should hold those screws from vibrating out and still allow you to remove them if necessary

I had problem with my furnace when it had occasional problems igniting. Furnace would go through cycles to get ignition but failed and shut down. I did 2 things and now have a working furnace. Fingers crossed!! Unfortunately, I can't say which step corrected problem. For my sail switch paddle I "slightly" bent it towards blower cage. Spin the blower cage to ensure no contact. Also I added a 2nd vent off blower box for heating bathroom. I wondered if this allowed more exhaust volume than the 1 main cabin vent. Others noted the slight bend in the 5" exhaust pipe may impede good flow past sail switch paddle to open switch. Regardless, problem fixed and now I have a Dinosaur board for extras.

Follow up: ASAP was great to work with. Board shipped within hours and arrived a few days later. I enlisted a helper to drill out the brass grommets. Used a 3/8 drill bit. I held the board while he carefully drilled away the top brass lip. I should have taken pictures - sorry. But you can tell when you have enough removed. Their boards have a shiny metal ring around the grommet and as soon as you can see it, you can pop the grommet out by hand.
Tip: Leave the grommets in until they are all drilled to keep the board level.
Afterwards, the board fit perfectly and furnace kicked on right away.
Thanks for the tip on the Dinosaur board.
