Garbage can location

Hi everyone,

Kinda new to this site.
We will be picking our new 21' 5.0 TA up next month, pretty excited.
We were just wondering from looking at pictures it doesn't look like there is a convenient place to put a garbage can, would love to hear what some of you are doing.

Since garbage cans aren't the most attractive things in the world, especially when the top is open and literally garbage can be seen I prefer the can in Ten Forward be hidden. A 1-1/2 gallon Rubbermaid can, lined with a grocery store plastic bag works for me. Fits well, emptied once a day

I have mine in the bath at present and a metal container by sink for food and other wet garbage. at night it all goes outside in a trash bag that stays in a small metal can to keep the critters away.

I have two...a plastic one the size of a loaf of bread that sits on the counter. It has a small plastic bag liner inside, a lid, and it's for goopy garbage like peels, pits, coffee filters, etc.

I have another, a structured plastic bag from a clothing store that hangs on an umbra hook for paper stuff...tags, wrappers, etc. It's about the size of a small shoe box.

I like that tin pail, Jim. I'm going to check it out.

garbage can

On our 19, I mounted a Rubbermaid 2952 on the inside of the cabinet door under the sink. Worked great - out of sight but easy to add garbage by just opening the cabinet door. It does usurp a bit of cabinet space.

The can is 8-quart, 9.9" wide, 6.8" deep, and 10.1" high, Walmart product number 554912764.

I made a 4-sided mounting box to hold it to the back of the cabinet door using 1/4" and 1/2" oak. The side that mounted against the door was large enough to allow the handle through-bolts to hold it on one side, so it was secure. I just used short wood screws into the back of the door on the other side, so no evidence of the mount on the front of the cabinet door.

If there is interest, I can post a picture tomorrow of the can and mount. We no longer have our trailer (sniff), so I can't show it installed.

We got one of these at the Container store and put it in the lower cabinet below the sink.

The steps to the loft in the 5.0TA create a bit of a problem in that the bottom step is “abbreviated.” Both myself and my spouse “missed” it when backing down and nearly fell when we first had the trailer. We came to the conclusion that placing something on the second step above the “cut out” would serve as a warning that we were too far to that side if a foot contacted the object. The lidded waste container from Ikea fits perfectly, is readily accessible from inside or outside of the trailer without really having to bend over or open a cabinet. We, too, use plastic grocery bags and it looks decent if we take care when inserting the bag, which I obviously did not do on this go around. The lid fits tight enough to keep the bag from sliding down in if excess waste is crammed in. It gets emptied, on average, once a day. When we travel, it goes into the bathroom. And since using this location, neither of us has missed the bottom step when backing out of the bed.

Trailer Trash

Debbie and I just returned from a fabulous 24 day round-trip to Yellowstone, Glacier, and the Grand Tetons. While we were in Glacier, we stayed at a nice KOA in St. Mary, as there were no vacancies at the public campground. On a cold afternoon, prior to cocktails, were strolled through the KOA market. Found this little beaut and found in fits perfectly in the cubby at the foot of our 21:
