If you don't like that road, don't take Independence Pass in Colorado from Aspen to Leadville. Many places two 8' wide units can not pass going opposite directions.

LOL, I used to live in Leadville and that road is only about a lane and 1/2 wide :eek: I drove it once in a jeep and that was way more than enought!

Have driven the Beartooth many years ago and have driven Independence Pass just a year ago. Not towing anything in either case, but if I remember correctly, Independence pass was treacherous. I would not try it with a trailer behind me.
 
We're spending a couple of nights in south-west Montana, entering Yellowstone from the west to spend a couple of nights at Madison campground, then heading east via the Beartooth highway. I suspect it will be an "interesting" drive...


YeeHa! Luv that high country! I must say, I'm a bit envious.

I can't think of anything I'd enjoy more than having an Escape and spending a couple of weeks camping up on the BTH and along the CJH.
