Before we ordered our 19 (aka "Hardley") we did a lot of careful measuring and double and triple checking with ETI to make sure that (with some minor modifications to the garage) it would fit in our garage. There was even discussion about not getting air conditioning just to be really positive that it would fit.
Sunday I helped a carpenter friend raise the header on the single stall door of our garage from 8' to 9'. This was absolutely all we could get without major surgery. It looks a little odd but I don't really care if means I can have safe covered storage right at the house.
Monday the door went in and Tuesday night was Hardley's first night inside!
Tammy assured me that it would fit in a 9' door. Let me tell you we needed every last bit of that 9' She was right but not by much, this picture was taken before the rubber trim/seal went on just to be extra sure.
With the trim piece installed the flexible rubber just barely touches the highest part of the air conditioner as we slide by. We have about 3/8"clearance to the solid wood that holds the rubber seal.
