Has anybody installed a wine cooler in their Escape?

Duke and I were chatting while we were on the Friday Wine Tour, and discussing how hard it was to store wine in the trailer. I remembered that I had seen a Dometic Wine
Chiller in their catalog, and wondered if anyone has installed one of them. It is just over 16" high, which I think means it should fit well under one of the seats, or maybe even under the bed.

I am surprised I can't find any mention in the forum of someone who has done this. I have always wanted a wine cellar in our trailer.

But all jokes a side. I have never seen somebody with à wine Cooler in their trailer.

We store our wine in the shallow floor cabinets alongside the wheel wells (Escape 21.) Velcro taped some movable ABS widgets to protect bottles & store tall things:

A cooler which is compact, can be DC-powered, and is billed as "absolutely vibration-free" and limited in capability to "up to 64F below the ambient temperature" is usually a thermoelectric design - not absorption or compressor-based. That means it is not very efficient or effective, but maybe good enough for wine.

We tried a similar unit in a different RV - to have a refrigerator which would run reliably unlike the RV absorption unit - and the one we had (not Dometic brand) turned out to be unreliable. The consequence of failure in a wine cooler seems low, so it might be a good lightweight compromise.

I don't know how well the wire racks would hold wine bottles in a moving RV - I would expect them to roll around a lot, which would not be desirable.

Now who is it Alf that does the whining? Now I know why you left us your bike rack, you now use the receiver for your wine tanker;D
