Heading to Chilliwack Friday for our new 19

We've been reasonably patient parents waiting for the birth of our new 19. It's been 9 months since we placed the down payment, kinda like having a baby I guess. We are heading out Friday to our pickup date of 3/17. Weather looks pretty good and we're doing a layover day at Lava Hot Springs in Southern Idaho. Quite a nice way to split the trip in two. Not sure how we will come home but probably scouting out locations for the August total solar eclipse in Oregon somewhere. Bookdock baby!

Thanks to everyone in previous posts of various kinds that helped us decide on options and I have a bunch of tweaks to look forward to and some ideas to post once we're home.
 
How exciting for you! I'm still in the incubation phase...Did get an e-mail from Escape that my date has been moved up a month...from Nov to Oct and they are hoping to be able to move it up more as the expansion kicks into full swing. Can't come soon enough!
 
Wow the 19 was worth the wait

We had our walkthrough of our new 19' on 3/17 at 8 am. What a trip meeting Tammy and Sarah and Michael and others. The walkthrough was very thorough and we learned a lot. Having had a truck camper for 13 years helped since we already knew the basic systems. It tracks really nice behind our F150 without the standard hitch.

First night in the trailer was nice, figuring out where everything went, sipping on wine and smiling a lot. We're heading back across to NC in a couple days camping our way home. We're happy!!

Another Escape in our area.:cool: Hopefully we will get a chance to meet up someday.:thumb:

We will be through Asheville in May.

I believe that your's added to one more that I know is already on order will make 5 Escapes in the Asheville area! Considering that we are 3000 miles from Chilliwack, that might be a record for so many in an area so far from the factory! Congratulations!
 
We should be receiving our 19 baby in mid April. Can't wait. It has been a long and fascinating process. The forum has been an awesome source of information along the way. We will be heading south to check out the total eclipse August 21st in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Reservations all set.

April is a perfect pick up date! You'll have the whole season ahead of you. Enjoy! :thumb:

Hi Nelson (and other Asheville Escapes too) ,
I'm East of you in Hickory. What route did you take to Chilliwack, how many miles a day did you drive and how long did it take you? What are some areas to avoid if possible? Thanks in advance.

Trip to Chilliwack

We took I-40 all the way to Albuquerque due to snow flurries in early March north of that route. Cool stuff to see heading NW through Indian Country and Canyonlands, Arches, and Moab (no time to stop), but we had many long driving days since we had a time limit to get back to Asheville. One thing I can mention is we came back I-70 across the Rockies and with our F-150 we were grinding up the steepest passes around 35 MPH wondering if we would just come to a stop. So keep that in mind.
 
Title and License

I should also mention we had no issues driving back without a license plate or registration. NC DMV said a License and Theft agent had to physically check the VIN on the trailer before they would issue a title and license. He came to our house then it was pretty easy to get the plate and registration the next day. Make sure they use the US dollar amount not the CAN $ amount for the value, big difference in fees. Our lady used the wrong value even though we told her which to use. Had to redo it.

What type of engine do you have in your F-150? V-6, V-8, Ecoboost or not. I will be bringing my trailer home with a F-150 V-6 2.7L EcoBoost and hoping I don't have any issues.
