Hi all!! I know this has been discussed before, and I have read many of the posts. I think we are narrowing our future Escape to a 5.0 with the high lift axle. We will want the Houghon A/C, and we will NOT want the TV antenna. If we go solar, we can just do the rear panel. So, that being said - I "think" the high point on the 5.0 will be the fiberglass hump.

I know Escape stated 9'7" (I think) but that's without A/C, and now they changed the specs height to MaxxFan Opened up.

Does anybody know the real true life height of the 5.0 configured like above, MaxxFan closed?

We are 5 months away from groundbreaking on our new garage, and I really want to stick with 10ft doors, but I sure don't want to be off by a couple inches.

Lastly, I really don't want to mess around with "kneeling" the 5.0, or tire pressures etc - rather drive in/out.

Thank you SO MUCH for any advice!

Not sure if this figure I downloaded a while back is still found on the ETI website, but perhaps of interest ....

Personally, if building a garage, I'd go for a 10'-6" door, but YMMV.

Thank you Centex!! This is exactly what I needed! Yep, a 10'6" is doable because of the 12ft ceiling. That may be the answer! The doors will be 10ft wide, and I wanted to avoid the "taller than wider look", but the extra 6" height probably wont be noticeable. Thanks again!!

No I do not. Even with the landing gear extended for hitching and unhitching there's clearance with the arm that is attached to the back/underside of the door. If I open the escape hatch more than say and inch or two it will make contact with that arm.

We have the exact setup you are speaking of. Our 5.0 fits nicely. No TV antenna. Lift kit. Coleman AC

Now heres the kicker haha! I overdo everything. I may try to squeeze in a little bit larger diameter tires in the future (of course I realize I need to be careful with fitment). But I will take this into account. But first things first - garage! I may see if I can do the 10ft 6in, then be ok with larger tires, or TV antenna, or extra solar if we ended up that way.

Thanks again everybody!!
