I’ve searched and not found the answer. What is the distance from the top of the mattress to the ceiling in the 5.0 bedroom? Thanks.
Can you sit on the edge of the bed with adequate headroom?
Can you kneel on the bed without hitting your head?

Here is a Escape walkthrough video of the 5.0 which shows 6'3" Karl crawling around on the bed (about 2 minutes in). You should get some idea of how much room there is.

I am 5’10” and have no problem sitting up on the bed. What is a problem, however, is trying to lean back against the front wall while sitting in bed. The angle of the front wall (i.e. headboard) of the trailer makes it virtually impossible to lean back while sitting in bed trying to read. I understand why it’s the way it is (aerodynamics), but I am curious as to what solutions folks may have come up with to address this.

If I want to sit up straight while reading, it's done at the dinette, not in bed. I recline in bed and use several pillows. This isn't just in my trailer, it's the same at home. Sitting up straight in bed? Really?

The very last page of the 5.0 configuration guide offers the following measurements:

Escape 5.0 bed area height: 83” Measuring from the top of the 8” plush mattress to ceiling at the head of the bed at the front of the trailer, there is 29” of space. At the foot of the bed there is 36” or 3 feet.

What these numbers mean in a practical sense is that most anyone should be able to sit up and/or crawl around at the foot of the bed with no clearance issue.

The head of the bed, as others have noted, is too low for you to sit up fully. That said, I find plenty of room laying down with 2 pillows stacked on each other to give me a semi-reclined position.

As far as kneeling/crawling on the bed goes, there’s no problem. However, I’ve hit my head a few times on the crank that operates the escape hatch cover. Kinda smarts!

We bought a couple of these wedge cushions Amazon.com
they worked great, turned around backwards they give you a vertical headboard, and then with your pillows it's very much like a regular bed. With them you can sit up fully they fit just under that horizontal piece of wood trim above your pillows.
The problem is there's nowhere to put them away so we were constantly shifting them from the bed to the dinette to bed and sometimes to the back seat of the tundra. They are just too big, an inflatable version might work but unless it has a built in inflator I know we wouldn't use it. We like to hang out in bed and watch a movie once in a while but it's not worth it to haul these things around, extra pillows work just fine for that.

Thanks so much for the info. I’d also forgotten what a great accent Karl has.

I’ve done the same thing. I was thinking about putting some padding on it but finally got used to ducking around it.
