Hello from Oklahoma! We are new to the forum and have not yet purchased our Escape. We are trying to decide between an Escape 19 and an Escape 21C. Hoping to make a decision in the next few weeks and then get moving toward purchasing an Escape. We are trying to learn and enjoy the fellowship on the forum. Glad to be a part of the Escape Community.

Hello Okie Dave!

I don't think you can go wrong with either trailer. We chose the 21C because we wanted the u-shaped dinette in the rear.

If you peek around this site you will find a lot of 19 and 21C owners. Plus, you will learn about anything you could imagine.

Good luck on your decision process!

Hello Okie Dave
Not Trying to change your purchase trajectory just putting it out there that there are a steady stream of pre-owned trailers out there. Most are in excellent condition and well appointed. Depending upon your timetable if you haven’t already viewed both models, I’d encourage that before making a decision.
Just a thought
Good Luck

We have owned both models and started with the 19. We switched for a few reasons. 1. In the 19 the person sleeping in the back of the bed has to climb over the other person to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I never fell, but there were times I thought I was trying out for Cirque du Soleil. With the 21C you can slide down to the bottom of the bed and get up that way - much easier.
2. The 21C is several inches wider. Not a huge deal we thought until we got the 21C, but now we (my wife, myself, and our Golden Retriever) can all scoot around each other much more easily. In the 19, we had to learn a sort of traffic pattern and take turns getting from the table to the refrigerator.
3. We really like the U-shaped dinette option in the 21C. Not sure if that is available for the 19 or not.

The advantages of the 19 are that it is smaller, and between the two the 19 is easier get around tight spots. Of course if you are worried about getting your trailer into tight spaces, I'd consider the 17. I got about 3/4 to 1 mile per gallon better gas mileage towing the 19 vs. the 21C.

Extra cabinet space and counter space are also big bonuses, and the bath area is a bit bigger on the 21C as well.

For us, we are very glad we switched for the above mentioned reasons, but those may not be a factor for you.

CPAHarley would be a good one to ask after 3 19’s and 2 21’s. We’ve never filled our 19 up and think it is huge in size. Others find it cramped.

Thank you! Really appreciate you input and thoughts on the reason for changing. We are leaning toward the 21C.

2015 E21 to be listed soon

Okie Dave,

Our good friends in Chattanooga have had a health issue and have asked me to sell their 2015 E21. I will be listing it as soon as I can get the build sheet from them and some pictures.

They've done significant improvements including additional solar panels and lithium batteries. As soon as I review it all, I will list a price, but it should be very reasonable.

Welcome Dave. Good luck in your hunt for the perfect trailer.

Forum tip: When replying directly to someone it is best to hit “quote” (or in some cases multi-quote) like I have done so it shows the original comment(s) and your response. Makes the thread much easier to follow and if it is something that warrants a response the original commenters will know who you were referring to.
