Hello, I am retiring and going full time next August (2017). It will be me and my three dogs two of which are large and one small. No. I'm not crazy. I do a lot of work with dogs and will always have them around. It's not much different having them in a trailer as opposed to a home because they are always within a few feet of me anyway. I need a self contained and solar equipped trailer. I have pretty much decided on either the 19' or 21' Escape. I have sent an email to Escape asking for trailers to view in the southeast Michigan area. I know I need to get my order in ASAP to get it by next August.
Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated.
Thanks

Check the owners map at the top of the page. It shows a 21 in Monroe.

No, you are not crazy! (we have 4 at home). What I would take in to consideration is the floor space by the door. Dogs want to go out (and in) at the same time. Which would make me prefer the 19. The 19 has also the possibility of a reversed floorplan, which might be an option to consider. Anyway, welcome to the forum, have fun exploring all the options!!

I knew I'd get some good tips here. The owners map doesn't seem to have a way to contact the owners. Am I missing something?

No, the information just isn't there. People put whatever they choose on the map, if they put themselves on the map at all.

It almost always includes a trailer model, but there is as much or little description as they want, and the name can be anything from just a nickname, or first name, or forum username, to full first and last name. I've never seen anyone put specific contact information (such as a phone number or email address); I would not expect anyone to do that, and I would not encourage anyone to do that.

Give ETI a call, and they will forward you info of owners nearby who are willing to show you their trailer.

You should contact the factory first, not all owners wish to share their phone nor necessarily show their trailer. The factory will give you those people near you that do wish to demonstrate their unit.

Ummm......

I have sent an email to Escape asking for trailers to view in the southeast Michigan area.

.....it seems she has. :)

Sending an email and receiving a response are 2 different things, it is assumed if Escape gave her some names then the issue is moot. Perhaps with all Escape has been dealing with that response to the email has been slow.

LOL
I wish I had a buck for every slow moment I have had. ;D

You might consider attending a rally near you. A rally, such as the Mississippi River Rendezvous on October 1, gives you an opportunity to see a number of models at once and to see how owners have chosen options and applied mods. Most of all, you get to talk to people who use the trailers, what a better resource.

This rally is set up for trailer tours, no need to track down an owner, who may be busy, and spend their time getting one viewpoint.
