My kids don’t think there is anything about this trailer that resembles their dispersed camping choices. I personally am all for the porcelain throne, and loved the Dometic in our previous trailer.

Yup. No adapter ring needed; simple R&R. I didn't get the rinse hose option. It's also only a few pounds heavier as only the bowl is ceramic. Seat is wood.

Mike is working on the bed and under storage, but found a few construction issues with supports, so it is good that we are doing this before we slept on it

No, I'm not psychic, and this has been discussed several times in the past.

I have to admit that I was a bit surprised when I first disassembled the bed platform in my 19 and saw how it was constructed. It isn't the way that I would have constructed it.

Having said that, I believe that it's a non-issue. Look overhead in a big box store and you'll see that only the top chord is supported. The plywood in this case acts as the top chord.

Some folks have had the mattress removed and walked on the plywood and heard it creak. That doesn't mean that it's going to collapse. In normal use the mattress eliminates the point load and I've never heard of a bed collapsing.

I considered modifying my platform but decided, why fix something that's not broken. It wasn't a problem in the 19 and hasn't been a problem in the 21.

If you are thinking of using the underbed crates, here's one idea. If you plan to use them for clothing/shoes, i.e. stuff you'll pack each time, you can fasten them together with those large heavy duty twist ties (available at home depot in a package with various sizes). that way you can pack them inside the house, carry them out to the trailer, and fasten (unfasten) them together easily. I put some flexible plastic cutting boards in the bottom of the shoe container so dirt wouldn't filter down to the floor.
