Hi all! We wanted to introduce ourselves, we're Emma and Joel, living full time in our Escape 23 F2. We decided it's about time that we create an account here on the forum since it's been a great source of information and inspiration for quite some time now. We're always happy to help where we can. We also share our adventures on YouTube as Cozy Living Machine!

Looking forward to connecting, swapping stories, and seeing you out on the road! 👋

Hi Emma & Joel! I've seen a few of your recent videos - stunning scenery and I love that you're mixing up more "urban" adventures with the wild ones. I also admire your "going where the road takes us - living small and simple and loving it!" philosophy. Something to aspire to.

I love this Community, and this forum and I can't wait to read what you might have to contribute about your travels - and your E23!

Oh, and, special love shout-out to the two doggos 😍.

Welcome to the forum!!
We appreciate the detailed walkthroughs you’ve done in your videos. We watched your partnership video with Samuel and are a curious about what the partnership means.
We also have an E23F2 on order. Your video walk through helped us decide to get the front window.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I will give Sam and Colt extra pets for you. 🐾
Our E23 should be delivered sometime today. Between when we started the build process and now, it has been nice to be able to follow along with your journey so we can see how the E23 performs in the wild. Looks like she is treating you well!
VERY exciting. We could hardly sleep the night before our pickup!! Our trailer, affectionately called "Libby", has certainly treated us very well, indeed. I hope you love your new trailer as much as we do ours!

We will be making videos specifically about Escapes, our experience, attending rallies or pop-up events, visiting more folks who wouldn't otherwise have a chance to see one of these along our paths, and slowly meandering to bring Escape to the masses here in the USA. As for the front window, it's a must-have for us!

Welcome from Canada.

You don't have to give details or numbers, but I assume the "partnership" has some financial compensation and/or subsidized trailer etc.

I just want to know for future reference as I take reviews from compensated members and videos with a grain of salt over people who are paying for everything out of pocket and don't receive kickbacks.

It's generally why I gravitate to forum reviews for items over YouTube and other social media outlets. Most members are just regular Jill's and Joe's and paying for everything out of pocket.

I'll be honest, I don't follow trailer or RV channels. I don't get them.

I hear what you're saying @BravoDeltaRomeo . I'd like to ask, though - have you signed up for the Escape Ambassador program? The reason I ask is that we did and we did it, not because of the compensation but because we are passionate about Escape - their product, their people, our Community. Any compensation is completely secondary. Not even secondary - unnecessary really - it doesn't negate or influence our "promotion" of Escape.

Now, perhaps you aren't an Ambassador, because you adamantly refuse any compensation for talking about and taking people through your trailer. That's more than fair. However, calling out other Escape Owners who are Ambassadors - including Joel and Emma - for perhaps receiving some compensation for their time seems unfair to me.

I, for one, can't wait to keep following what they're up to on their adventures. I have an irrational fear of the complexity of solar and never boondock so I'll look forward to seeing how they deal with things. I also love to watch how owners modify and decorate their Escapes - it's part of the reason why I love coming on this Forum. There are very, very few channels I choose to follow. Most aren't RV-related. However, I have added Cozy Living Machine to my Subscribe list because I like them. It's that simple.

@TheNiceFamily I meant above and beyond the ambassador referral program. I am not an official ambassador but probably show our trailer to 2-3 campers each trip, with people asking about it or walking buy talking about it.

Someone who shares a personal viewing, to strangers and gets compensated if they buy one, (or even if they don't), is completely different than a steamer who travels around the country in an Escape RV and gets kick backs for posting videos and talking up a brand because they get it for free or a heavy discount. Their channel description says they are "Escape partners", which I have no issues with people doing on YT, I just want to know what they means when I read their forum posts. It changes how I take the advise, review or recommendation.

I'm not saying that's what's happening here, I don't know their situation. But it does happen often in relation to other products and industries on social media (YouTube).

Again, I have zero issues with the Ambassador program. I was wondering if there was something above and beyond going on here. If someone is on here and they are on payroll or getting special compensation to promote Escape (or any product for that matter) I think the membership has a right to know. At least that's how every other forum I have been on has handled it. I like full disclosure on products and know a "free for review" product is not reviewed the same as a "paid from my own pocket" review.

I do watch the odd Escape mod, customization or repair video. I find them helpful as well.

If the moderation team feels my question is out of line, they are free to delete my post(s) and I'll have my answer.

I don't follow social media but is that what is called an "influencer"?

I, too, see other forums openly identify vendors, affiliates or receivers of sponsorships.

Hey BravoDeltaRomeo! I completely understand, I tend to be weary of any reviews out there as well, even on sites like Amazon and the like. We purchased our Escape 23 at full price last year and picked it up this past January. When we visited the factory we built a great relationship with the folks at Escape and knew we wanted to be part of the team in some way. 9 months later, we're working together!

To be clear though:
  • They’ve never paid us for reviews or to post content on our CLM social channels—and we give extremely honest feedback where appropriate
    • This is not something that'll change through this partnership, we continue to have full ownership and creative license on our platform
  • Escape will be paying us moving forward however in the following circumstances where we do work for them, for example:
    • When we represent Escape at rallies and expos
    • When we create videos and content for Escape's own channels
    • When we provide aftersales support to existing Escape owners through their ticketing process
Our role is about brand representation and outreach, helping more people discover Escape and what it’s like to live in an E23 full-time.

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Thank you for the reply and explanation.

Sorry for derailing your welcome post.

Would you mind telling me how long it took from order to the finished unit (not including delivery)?

Let’s be positive and support ETI and the wonderful people who buy Escape products. Just because someone wants to go the extra mile (or kilometer) to raise ETI product awareness, jealousy and envy need not raise its ugly head.
We have enough headwinds to deal with when it comes to the good ole USA government. Let’s all try to overcome, and not add to the challenges.
We have 2024 Escape 23 F1 (twin) and absolutely love it.
To be transparent, ETI has been extremely generous with us in the Ambassador program. We have shown our trailer numerous times and some of the people who came to see eventually purchased a trailer from ETI.
Renumeration from ETI will keep us in Tim Horton coffee and Poutine for quite some time. (Sometimes hard to get in Texas).

We can't adequately express how truly appreciative we are of our Escape Owners' Community and Ambassadors. We are so proud to be a direct-to-consumer manufacturer, enabling us to not only cut out the dealer middlemen but more importantly to offer new trailer shoppers the opportunity to enjoy the first-hand knowledge, experience and tours offered by our generous Community.

As it's Thanksgiving today here in Canada, we would like to send a very big heartfelt Thank You to all of you here on this wonderful Forum!

The Escape Trailer Team
