So we decided to jump in and be a part of the Escape family. We picked up a new to us 2011 19' that we will be towing with a 2004 4Runner.

Our plan is to pick up in Chilliwack on Monday the 1st of June and work our way from Washington to Glacier NP and then on to Yellowstone. Then on to Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Oregon, and back home to Washington. We plan on taking 3-4 months to make the trip. Most of the trip is open ended so if anyone has any recommendations we would love to hear them. We look through the forum for ideas all the time.

We will have our 17 month old and our black lab traveling with us. We were hoping to make it to the Rally but wrapping things up prior to the trip wouldn't allow for it.

We have learned so much from the forum and can't wait to put it into practice. We hope to run into other Escapees on the road and will be sure to post our adventures.

Welcome and congrats! Sounds like you're going to have a wonderful trip. If you've never toured the Southern Utah area, I would highly recommend adding it. We love Bryce, Zion, Canyonlands, Arches, Dead Horse Point, Capitol Reef, Kodachrome Basin and several other sites. Hard to make a bad choice. They are sometimes booked solid well in advance, but that's because there is actually something worth seeing.

Thanks for the welcome! We've never been to Utah, besides the airport, so we're very interested in getting there. It looks beautiful from the many pictures we've seen. We will start looking at places and check on the availability early.

You're welcome. By the way, there are a ton of BLM areas around the more popular areas if the campgrounds are full -- and they are usually more quiet with the same stunning scenery. Here's a link to the UTAH BLM site:

BLM lands are great. We have the solar installed so we'd like to get some use out of it and not have to plug in every night. Usually a little more remote which we enjoy as well.

All the pictures look amazing and I'm sure they don't compare to seeing them in person. Really looking forward to our travels.

We are on our way to pick up the trailer. A quick stop at Camping World to pick up a few last minute additions and then we will continue on up to Chilliwack. Depending on our timing and whether we are up for dry camping will determine where we stay our first night.

I'd suggest Birch Bay Campground for the first couple nights, if you can't get a basic site just don't plug in to get a feel for "dry" camping. You'd also be close to ETI should something not be right.
