Hi all I am in the research process atm.

Thanks. Will take all that into account. I don't have much experience with towing or hitches, so might just go with what they will install.

Hi all, I realized I never updated this thread. I want to thank this community. You all have been so amazing. We ended up going with the 17b. We went with an inventory, which had most of what we wanted. I was able to add a few things, like the front storage box, a few captain lights, extra folding shelf, shelf in the wardrobe, power jack, and rear camera. It was delivered on January 14th. It is now sitting in my back yard and I have been having so much fun learning how things work. I have figured out most of the electrical things, but need to wait for spring to learn about the plumbing. Our maiden voyage will likely be a KOA near by in Morango Illinois. I signed up for the Hooshier hospitality rally in Tippacano Indian for May 16-19, and I booked a lake front spot in Holland Michigan for the first week of June.

Since you're so close, you might consider adding the Mississippi River Rendez to your schedule. Thomson, IL, is just 150 miles west of you, & it's a beautiful location. It's held the last full weekend in September, & there are usually about 40 trailers there, mostly Escapes, though all are welcome. If interested, you'll see updates here on the forum. Reservations open 6 months ahead. We'd love to see your new "baby"...oh, & meet you too!

That's great news! Congratulations. I'm sure you know that the western shoreline of Michigan is loaded with nice sandy beaches and wonderful views. Many inland lakes are great, too. So much to explore. Be aware however that sometime from mid May to mid June there can be an alewife fish die-off that washes up on shore in Lake Michigan and stinks up the beaches (not usually the campgrounds themselves though). The extent of the die-off depends on the current population of the (non-native) alewives and other factors, so it varies from year to year.

Thank you. I did see something about that, YES I would love to come. It's going on the list. I am hoping to do at least one trip a month.
