How are you holding up?

I'm no expert on a sewing machine (although I have made full sized theatre drops (20' X 40') from 54" wide fabric using industrial sewing machines that sew more than a foot per second. Making something as small as a mask is actually more difficult. My first ended up with the ear elastic on the inside.

Jon now you can understand why Reace quit making 13 and 15 footers, harder to make than bigger ones.

Just a fyi, I made some of that kind. I wanted to make the nose snug, so eventually I started adding a small rectangle of fabric, like 6x 3/4 inches folded in half to be 3", at the center of the top of the mask, and sewed it on the two long sides and one short side--not the fold. Then I slipped a pipe cleaner or ever a couple of twist ties from bread into the pocket from the unsewn side. Then it's possible to pinch that over the nose for a tighter fit. I have washed all of mine without taking out the twist ties.

Those twist ties will do a job on your washer pump motor, I know someone that it did cause a big repair bill.

We went out to the Poudre river last week (West of Fort Collins, CO) and I bought a humming bird feeder with us. I was very careful to make sure everything was sterile and the mix was no more potent than 1:4 (standard mix).

This was the first night for my wife in our new 5.0TA and of course she loves it! The camping and hiking was lovely. The lake shot is Lake Agnus at Cameron Pass, at over 10,200 feet (well over).

Poudre River

We camped further down the river but drove up to the pass last year and the year before. It’s pretty country there. It was this same week a year ago. Some nice natural cooling facilities in that area.

A few years ago I was on Orcas Island in Washington. I had parked my truck at a turnoff on the road to Mt. Constitution to admire the view of the San Juan Islands. A few hummingbirds came out and flitted around the front of my truck.

A car pulled up and parked beside me. Two young women got out. I heard them speaking French. I told them that hummingbirds were nearby, and if they stood and watched they would see them. Sure enough the birds came up again. One of the women looked at me, startled, and said she had thought hummingbirds were mythical creatures and didn't exist. I found out later that there are no hummingbirds in Europe; they are a New World phenomenon.

A lot of those images are them strafing each other. There is always one big brute that tries to dominate the feeder. I being two feeders and space them to frustrate that move. They still fight.

You know, I think I am beginning to wear down a little from staying at home and staying away from the gym and activities.

I'm getting lazy and lethargic. Sometimes I just don't have the excitement in my life and I seem more sleepy than energetic.

This is a new feeling. I think it comes from prolonged changes to my lifestyle that I find constricting. I rode my scooter for about 25 miles Yesterday, just to get out, and it did help. I pulled some muscles in my back, probably from inactivity, so the scooter and skateboard were both off limits for the last few weeks. The trails are mostly vacant except for a few isolated C.U. students assembling along the creek to swim.

There are parts of town that have an eerie feeling when I ride thru them. Almost no one is out there. I rode to a four-plex ball field and not even maintenance workers were present. It's like everyone just left. No cars, nothing. Just me!

It's like a strange science fiction movie.

Weird times indeed. It makes me sad.

We looked like that in April and May, after the number of cases dropped way down everyone went back to doing what they always have. They just wear masks now. I kind of liked it with no traffic.

We took a trip to family property in the Catskills last week. The lesser traveled freeways in the north central part of the state were very lightly traveled . Rest areas were nearly empty.
