Hublion BMS Reset?

I don't follow why a RV would not have heated LiFePO4 batts................?

Granted, my heated batts were factory installed in the front storage box, when they still did that, but still...................

As soon as I pulled the batteries, it was clear they have the internal heating option, so hopefully rules out one possible cause of failure.

I tried individually charing one of the batteries with a Victron IP65 charger and no luck. It reads about 2.5 volts after charing, but can't get above that, so it seems the BMS is still locked or there's a bigger issue. I also tried the flash charge method, which didn't seem to do the trick either.

Sounds like it's time to contact ETI / Hublion.

I would suggest NOT "charing" lithium batts! 🙀......sorry............couldn't resist.

Curious, was your battery disconnect "on" (system connected to batts) during storage?

Good luck - will be following for the outcome.

Agreed. It's become a moot point for us. We are fortunate enough to have a heated shop where we store the 5.0 and since the batteries are under the dinette, even when we travel in very cold weather, we will keep some heat going in the coach.

If you measured 2.5V after a charge, I fear your batteries are beyond repair. The BMS should either be ON or OFF, and a fully discharged Lithium battery is about 10V. The 2.5V reading implies either the battery pack is failed, or the BMS only partially activating. Either way, it's time to contact HubLion.

I assume you were satisfied that one of the two charging methods (Victron, flash) held the battery at greater than 14.5 and less than 15 for some period of time?

Per ETI:

If your Escape came from ETI with HubLion (not Go Power brand, didn't ask about those) batteries (black or green top) , they ARE heated.

Update: After a lot of troubleshooting, I finally reached out to Hublion. It was super easy to get help. Literally the person who first answered the phone was able to quickly address everything, which is a unusual experience these days!

They had me provide pictures of all four batteries, plus multi-meter readings, and will be sending replacements once they get all the paperwork together to get them over the border. Couldn't be happier with the customer support.

Thanks again to everyone on the forum who helped me sort through this!

Where the heck is Pomfret? When I click on the word, Google maps shows Winnipeg but I’ve lived here all my life and have never heard of it.

@vtabv So what was wrong with your batteries and what caused it? I am just wanting to avoid having that happen to me. Glad Hublion is taking care of you.

Ah - I had the state and town set in my profile, but apparently it was only pulling in the town. Should show the correct location now.

Unfortunately I don't know and Hublion support didn't know either. I suspect something with the battery heater not functioning and the BMS still allowing a charge to go through.

Now that I'm comfortable with the very simple process of removing the batteries, they'll be spending next winter inside!

If we do some cold weather camping, I'm not going to rely on the heaters and BMS and would only charge the batteries if I'm confident they're warm enough.
