Invest in a good potable water hose. The one that comes with the trailer is not of the best quality and the end blew off of it at our first night in a campground. We were saved by our next door neighbors, Charlie and Lucy. Loren

While I agree the one I got was not the best quality, and I did replace in after 4 years, but it never blew on me it is still carried in the depths of the trailer as a spare, and for extra length when needed. Could be they changed the make of hose over the years too.

I also carry another short sewer hose, and a 30A extension cord too.

The spares come in handy when you want to orient your trailer to better take advantage of a view, or sometimes when we are with another couple, we like to face each other with our units.

You got a hose water hose? No water hose with ours. Had to bring our own.

I was wondering where our water hose was. Not a bad idea for newbies to get the starter kit with the idea that items can be replaced with better quality when one comes across them.

Not if you followed Loren's story since his didn't make it through the first outing. Buy a good water hose and regulator to start. Most of the items in the starter kit can be purchased at Canadian Tire in Chilliwack at better quality for less.

Whatever you do, do not buy RV TP at Canadian Tire. It is hugely expensive and dissolves in your hand at the thought of moisture. I found this stuff works well and is inexpensive.

Is there an interesting story to go with your discovery? RV toilet paper is generally not worth the price. We replicated some tests that "thefitrv" did and found that Angelsoft and Charmin Ultra soft break down readily. We also did not have good luck with the Camco RV toilet paper.

When I was researching different brands of trailers I went to forums for those brands. Last year I rented a Jayco motorhome for a month and at their forum lots of people just used the house brand from Costco and didn't have any problems. I used that during the rental and everything was fine. I plan to do the same in the trailer.

Soft and cushy enough for the tushy is my criteria! ;D

And using enough water so you don't get that dreaded tower of TP in your unit. Um, yeah. Don't want that.

There are a bunch of videos of people putting TP into canisters of water, letting them sit and shaking them up. Stuff like that. They will test different brands, some of which was the Costco brand. It passed their tests, as did some others that are softer (and cheaper) than the labeled RV TP paper.

On our sailboat, NO TP went into the head. A sealed plastic bag was the receptacle for TP, thrown out with the trash at the next port. Much easier on the plumbing, and you can use the brand of TP that's right for your tushy!
