Hi,
My wife and I are retired and we’re looking to explore the US. We both grew up with pop-up campers and love the outdoors. Started looking at some travel trailers and keep coming back to the Escapes. Hoping to find either a 19 or 21 foot model. Having boats our entire lives, we can appreciate the durability of fiberglass. Hopefully the stars will align and we can find a quality used one, a new one is not feasible at this time. Anyway, the information on this forum is great, second only to ih8mud which supports our 1977 Toyota FJ40 😜. We are in Ocean Isle Beach, NC so hoping to find something on this side of the continent. Thank you in advance.
Thanx, Adrian & Maryann Villegas

Welcome to the forum. It's great that you have previous experience in pop up campers etc. Your Escape will be a real step up in terms of comfort etc.

Be patient but be prepared to ponce when a good deal pops up.

Many of us are or have been boaters and, yes, we appreciate the f.g. aspect in a trailer.

Ron

Thank you for the welcoming words. Also, if anyone has an Escape for sale especially on the east coast, please feel free to contact me. I’ve scoured the for sale section BUT sometimes there is something out there and hasn’t been listed yet. Anyway, thank you in advance.

1977 Toyota FJ40

That got my attention! I used to be quite involved in the local LC community in a past life. I owned a 1st gen 4Runner while friends of mine had an FJ40, BJ40 and BJ60. All were capable rigs.

Best of luck in your search. Even an early-build 19 or 21 can still have decades of useful service life left....if you able to track down a well-cared for example.

It’s not pretty but a labor of love. Runs great and used quite often. A very slow running restoration. Thanx, Adrian

I just ordered a Escape 23 and just received my email it started production. I have looked at many campers and gone to many camper shows. To me they all look very cheap (staples and glue) When I went and looked at the fiberglass campers they are just a different animal. Dovetail joints, They have a less tendency to leak, no roof rubber membrane to worry about. and with Escape you can customize it to your liking.
