We are about to install a Victron 1200W inverter in our new 21C which has the u shaped dinette. I would appreciate any input from someone who has done a similar installation

Just so you know the Victron 1200 inverter is advertised in volt/amps. It's actually a 1,000 watt inverter.

We installed a 1500 watt inverter in our 5.0 and were happy with it.

We have a 2,000 watt inverter in our Bigfoot. We now run a 1,700 watt induction plate with no issues.

Victron does make a 2,400 watt inverter (3,000 VA), but at a cost. Progressive Dynamics makes a 2,000 inverter/transfer switch, that we installed, for around $650. It's a very easy install and has great reviews.

Food for thought,

Perry

Thanks, but that was not information that I was looking for.

I did correct your posting that the Victron 1200VA inverter is a 1,200 watt inverter, when in fact it's a 1,000 watt inverter.
I would want to know that.

The rest is for you to either read or ignore. It's the way forums operate.

Enjoy,

Perry

I installed a 2000W Renogy inverter in my 21, its under the street side rear bench of my U dinette, DC comes from my main DC bus bars which are fused at 250A, this is non standard enough thats its probably not applicable to your setup. I connected the inverter output to a dedicated outlet next to the inverter's remote on/off switch. I didn';t want to deal with a transfer switch and having to rewire the rest of my AC circuits to separate subpanel breakers. This inverter runs a coffee maker (a few minutes to make a pot, then its shut off), my wife's hair dryer, and occasionally a small 120VAC Oreck vacuum cleaner

Just another data point. The 1500 GoPower Inverter that came with our 5.0 will run a Keurig as well as a drip coffee maker. I initially thought I would have to replace the 1500 with a 2000 but decided it wasn't necessary.

There's a huge depth of knowledge on this forum but without a person asking specific questions they're unlikely to get the exact answer they're looking for.

For example you could ask about a specific location, fusing, cable size, transfer switches etc. etc.
