Inverter Questions

I can use any outlet in the trailer, because I paid for the option to have that done when I got the inverter. Otherwise, you get one outlet only, and then what's the point?

Thanks. guess I should try it out when it's here in the yard to see what I have as I don't remember what all we paid for it to do.

I use my built in 1500 watt inverter (with transfer switch servicing all receptacles) to run an inverter microwave (950 watts, but power can be dialed down to as little as 500 watts) for short runs, make a pot of coffee with a 5 cup drip coffee maker (600 watts), sometimes make toast or an English muffin using a pop up toaster (900 watts), and charge batteries for everything from multiple cameras to a water pix. I have 12v power supplies for as many devices as possible, but use the inverter when I have to.

Does anyone know how much running a CPAP machine will draw down your batteries each night?

Beth uses a CPAP. We don't have an inverter, just the 2x6v batteries and the stock Escape solar panel. She uses it in the trailer with the humidity control. I was fortunate to get a 12v-24v converter for the CPAP machine and there's both 120v AC and 12v DC plugs at the foot of bed on her side.

Between using lights, likely the TV (120v with small plug in inverter) for some hours in the evening, then the CPAP all night the batteries are still quite well charged come morning. Using an inverter for your CPAP would likely draw down the batteries more since it's less efficient turning the DC to AC back to DC than our converting the DC 12-24.

Check into getting a converter for your CPAP.

Inverter

We put in a 2000 pure sign inverter connected to our twin 6 volt batteries (225) we had ETI put in a number 12 wire to back of microwave closet then we put in a plug under dinette table so we ended up with 2 plugs we use one plug for microwave/television /c pap machine not all at once though . It all works but usually we have elec where we go . I wanted an inverter for c pap machine and microwave if we ended up boondocking sometime Jim
