It's been one year of full timing.

My wife Ann and I have been in our 5.0 TA for the last year full-time. We sold our house in Port Angeles Washington a year ago and have been on the road ever since.
And we plan to start again for at least 6 more months in October heading south out of the cold, last year we traveled down to the Florida keys up to Washington DC and to Arizona and back to the East Coast all in a year.
We started out with our truck having about 20,000 miles on it and now we're looking close to 70,000 mi.
We've had very few issues with our trailer and the ones I have had were caused by me or by deer. LOL
And maybe we'll meet a few of you again next year up in BC at the Escape rally.
And maybe we'll see some of you in the next 6 months on the road.

Ann needs to convince my wife to let us do the same.

Whenever I mention the idea she looks at me with this look that says "You're so silly". We've only been married for 26 years so she doesn't really know me that good yet.

Enjoy!

Give it time.

No hurry, no rush. It will work out, in the end, I trust.
Heck, I can't fathom myself, after 74 years of pondering.

What happened with the deer?
I hit two deer at once one took out my headlight and one took out my steps on the trailer.
And it happened again to somebody just outside of town here in Idaho.
The deer seem to want to play Kamikaze and pairs.

Do you have any advice on the pros and cons of full timing in a trailer that is comparatively small compared to most rigs in the campground?

Well to be honest we use it as a motel hardly ever stay anywhere more than a week anywhere and we're always gone looking at stuff almost every day.

Oh man, you are living the life Linda and I are hoping for in a couple of years when I finally pull the trigger and retire.

We've found that similar also to cruising the world in a boat with not much more interior volume than our trailers.

When you're on the move the big picture is so much bigger. Living in a similar small space permanently without any travel would be a whole different situation.

Brush guard

Consider installing a brush guard on your truck to protect it from deer. Two of my friends have recommended the Ranch Hand brand. One has taken out three deer with it, the other seven. Their trucks are unscathed. Ranch Hands are expensive but they might be worth it. I may buy one before my next long trip.

No real advice on this, but Barb and I lived in our Bigfoot pickup camper in Alaska several months between houses. Some people I know can’t make 1500 sq ft work for a couple of months. Others don’t mind 80 sq ft. You gotta find out what works for you.

I know I'm envious, not sure Linda is on board yet ;). I have 2 years left on my current gig and then it is time to hit the road. I really enjoy reading about folks that are out there full-timing it.
