No intent to disparage. I was just describing my experience so far and cautioning about expecting an antenna to deliver the goods.
Hi: gbaglo... I certainly trust our King Jack Antenna to deliver the goods better than King Steven!!! We will be concrete camping for a month in an urban area again. Last year our Winegard Antenna couldn't get a PBS station!!!No intent to disparage. I was just describing my experience so far and cautioning about expecting an antenna to deliver the goods.
Hi: cpaharley2008... Some how Peerage and beer sounds so common!!! Now fine Whisky or Bourbon is quite another question.Downton Abbey and Yuengling Beer, you must be in heaven Alf.....that is what we work for all our lives......happiness.
Y'all are very fortunate to camp with other people during good weather. But please don't disparage, by innuendo at the very least, those who are widowed (or are single) and camp during winter months when it gets dark at 4:30 p.m. and there's nothing but rain coming down; television and movies in the evenings can be entertaining. At least I'm out there.
There's no one right way to camp, it's different for all based on our desires.
We don't use the TV much either, yet like many things when we want to....We are trying to finalize our build sheet, and have had the Jack TV Antenna and wall mountable TV arm on our sheet from the start. However, with the advent of cable, fiber optics and satellite television, I was wondering if television airwave signals are very common any more? If you have a Jack TV antenna, can you please tell us if you feel it is worthwhile? Are there better options to spend the money on? Also, if we get a TV arm, is there some place near it to plug in an AC plug in? Is it worth getting the arm, or just a laptop computer? We welcome your thoughts and opinions. Thank you.
Hi: All... Been carrying around a copy of The Kings Speech since it came out on DVD. Got a 19" Toshiba flat screen with built in DVD player. Been in both 5.0& 5.0TA and the movie is still in its cellophane wrap. There's always something else to do!!! Alf

And the cellular data streaming is an even more viable option for those of us who have an unlimited data plan -- grandfathered in at a low rate. Of course, all of that depends on if you have a signal. I like the antenna and I like free even more.We don't use the TV much either, yet like many things when we want to....
An option not discussed much in detail and one I predict is growing as we speak is streaming via cellular data. In the US there is a price war thanks most likely to the FTC barring AT&T from buying T-Mobile. The costs have dropped significantly: $130/mo for 2 smartphones with 10GB data. AT&T is now running ads featuring Rollover for Data for example and I predict more pressure on pricing. Networks like NBC now let you stream their content as do of course Netflix, etc. We watch Dish Network via a mobile app Dishanywhere and it works great using our Samsung smartphone with their adapter that transfers the image from the phone to our TV.
Glad we have an inverter
