I'll be buying a 5.0 this fall/winter. I have looked at one a month or so ago via the ambassador owner deal.

Before deciding on all the options or if I will buy from inventory, I sure would like to see another one and get advice from owners.

I've asked several questions in this forum and have a spreadsheet of all the items that I have thought about and needed to keep in mind.

Seeing one again and talking to owners would be very helpful.
I searched this forum but didn't see anything about the Kansas rally. How do I determine if any 5.0's will be there?

It's a 3 1/2 hr drive from Northwest Arkansas, so very convenient for a day trip or overnighter.

What used to be the Kansas Eggstravaganza rally is now an informal gathering called the Kansas Gathering and is posted on casitaforum.com. There are typically a couple of 21Cs and an Escape 19 but so far no 5.0 in attendance. Maybe yours can be the first some day. Here is the text from the gathering announcement:

"The 2024 Kansas Gathering (not a rally)

We will be camping at:
CEDAR RIDGE CAMPGROUND
BLOOMINGTON EAST Park (COE)
Clinton Lake, Lawrence, Kansas

September 23 to 29, 2024."

So what exactly is the difference between a casual gathering and an organized rally?

Typically an organized rally has pre scheduled events such as potlucks, games, outings, small flea market, evening campfire etc. A simple gathering has no such scheduled organized events. However, during the course of a gathering these kinds of events often take place spontaneously initiated by some camper or group. It’s an arrangement in which someone announces the gathering along with a venue and dates but does not have the burden of hosting, organizing and leading events.

In the case of the NOGs, there are no (or very limited) scheduled group activities. No games, organized classes, informal talks and no set times for tours, etc. We get together twice... both food events!

I'll be at the campground for most of the week with our 19. Anybody else going? Clinton Lake is a nice army corp lake and the campground is very clean. The lake is 20-30 minutes from Lawrence, KS., which is a wonderful university town. If your'e new to the area, a visit to the Natural History Museum on the KU campus is a great way to spend part of an afternoon.
