Ladders, Ladders, and Ladders Which one?

Now there are Telescoping ones. Then there Telescoping ones the fold half way to become a step ladder. Or step Ladders that fold back to 4x4 post 5'-7' to choose from. Telescoping ones come in different heights also..

The question what will work on are ETI Trailers to reach the top of the roof assuming you are not 6' tall, ease or storage, oct.

What do you use, or what will you be buying next time?

I just lean my extension ladder against the trailer, with pool noodles or pipe insulation for protection.

And I like my Little Giant. I made a small padded platform for the top step. I like being able to kneel on it and easily and safely reach the center of the roof.

The ladders you use are the ones you take with you. What type are they,? Who big are they when they are folded up? How heavy are they? Where do you store them?
The one you use now is it the same one you would buy again?

The only one I've heard of is the 5 or 6' that folds up lengthwise, goes in a 2nd tube mounted under the trailer like the waste hose, only bigger I think.

You need a ladder 2’ taller.
All others looking for a ladder like myself do not short change the height when buying a new ladder.

Actually, having spent a ton of time on ladders, the Little Giant, used this way, seems to be far safer than a taller conventional ladder leaned against the trailer. Leaning and reaching forward over the top of a ladder tends to unload the bottom and sets it up to skid.

I'm at the point in my life where I think twice before climbing any ladder, and then I think again, and then I retire to my easy chair.

Actually I said "ladders", that's plural. I've spent a good part of my life on ladders, for several years, many times daily. I know what's safe and what's not safe. I would certainly recommend this as a safe way to reach the center of the roof.

The Little Giant has a wide stance and with the inner ladder side vertical and parallel to the trailer side it is very stable.

FWIW I use the Little Giant ladder as shown by Baglo with pipe insulation. I set fairly vertically so there is not much too much chance of it skidding out.

Scaffolding would be the best bet says my son who probably thinks I'm an idiot for not hiring someone else to do this.

Definitely on 3rd step from top(or less); I can see how kneeling on top makes it top heavy. Kinda like towing; it's all good until it isn't. Be safe for sure.

I really don't need to step into the middle of this discussion, but I'm with you, Ron. I wouldn't hesitate to use the Little Giant ladder in the same way - and hope my wife doesn't catch me doing it!

Thanks to you Ron for the purchase of our " Little Giant ". After using the "little Giant " sold 2 of the regular A frame ladders . The best ladder I have ever used is the "Little Giant " . It has to do with it's design for one , the wider stance at the bottom . It is so much more stable .Love that I can get in closer to roof . Thankyou again .

Being one who like to live on the edge, I'd have no problem kneeling on the top like Ron. Can someone tell me what size Little Giant I'd need for the 10' tall 5.0TA? It's getting a little hairy standing on the top of my 6' step ladder.
