All proud of myself for getting the Lagun table install completed in my u-shaped 5.0 dinette. Bracing job went well and it's nice and solid. So let's put those cushions back on and be done with it.

But wait, I forgot I ordered the expanded cushion option that pushes the bench cushion out 22" to increase my lounging area. So the cushion lip has to be shoved in so the vertical Lagun post can slide in the bracket.

Only option I can think of is to add a block wood spacer to extend the Lagun bracket flush with the cushion edge and hope it does not cause any reduction in stability.

Getting the bench cushion cut around the post at the local upholstery shop doesn't seem like a practical option.

Anyone have any other solutions?

I'll answer my own question. I painted 2x4's black and used them as spacers to push the post bracket out to clear the edge of the cushions. Got some 5" bolts to reach through to the inside and with a steel "L" shaped brace inside it seems to be plenty sturdy.
