Lift kit needed for WA and BC ferries?

I'm with you Ron on the facts about the cardboard. I've used it for years and keep plenty around. I can slide around easy enough on it, works great. As for the lift kit..... it is a plus plus to have it on the trailer. It's better to have the extra clearance and not need it than to not have it and need it. I like the looks of the trailer with it. I've always liked a vehicle that sets up pretty be it a car, truck, trailer, ect. But..... hey.... that's just me, different strokes for different folks.

Cheers to ya...... and Happy Trails........ Jack

Though not commonly done, I have gone on some seriously rough terrain with my Escapes. Off road locations, a real steep driveway we had, lots of back roads and so on. I have yet to encounter a situation where a lift kit was needed. They already are designed and built with WAY more clearance than your average stick built.

Like Ron I have had no issue working underneath. If for any reason I needed added height I just happen to have lots of lumber pieces around to park it on. 2 5/8".... pffft. I can make it 6" no problem.

To have the lift kit still allows you to do what you want. I just prefer to look without and have yet to find reason to get it. If I did find a reason that I really needed it, it is real easy to add, just a couple hours work (just a guess).

Too funny, I had forgotten about that road. Now that was pretty rough places. A good part of the Baja at 10 kph. ;D

Here are some of my photos. The scary part was, I was too focused on driving to take photos on the tougher spots.

This was better than the highway.

This is part of the bridge we bypassed.

A big deep wash out hole on each side of the highway.

A nice side of the road campsite on this route.
