When I click on "New Posts" I only see the 10 most recent posts. Could this be increased? Or perhaps there is a setting somewhere that I missed. I really like this feature and know that the software for other forums has this capability.

On the menu bar click on "User CP" for the control panel. The on the left side under "Settings and Options" select "Edit Options". About 1/2 way down you will see a section for "Thread Display Options". You can change the number of posts displayed there. Be sure to click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom when finished.

I didn't do very good job explaining. Let me start over.

When I click on "New Posts" I get a screen that includes a section on the right labeled "Recent Discussions". (Indeed there are 15). Sometimes a day or two or three goes by where I don't check the forum. The most efficient way for me to catch up on things is to look at the "Recent Discussions" section. But only listing the 15 most recent posts is pretty limiting. I feel like I am missing a lot of good stuff! I know I could go to the individual sub-forums but that is not as handy.

I did follow up on the suggestion to increase the number of posts per page but I don't think that is the remedy for what I am asking (which wasn't very clear in my first post)..

Soooooo....my question is: Can "Recent Posts" be increased to include more than 15?

Recent Discussions is always visible in the default style ("Escape Forum") of the web page version of the forum - you don't need to click "New Posts". While the number of posts per page in normal forum views (and in the "New Posts" list) is controlled by a user preference, the Recent Discussions list is not (as far as I can tell).

If the forum administrators change it, it would presumably change for everyone and push the ads further down the page. I would be happy with that.

I followed the instructions and selected "20 of the last new posts" but....still only getting fifteen. Yes I did save the change. Adding Adblocker was a delightful move, and, agreed, pushing that ads column farther down, out of sight, would be another good thing.

As much as we would all love to see them go, we need to remember that those ads are what pay for this Forum and enable us to access it without some sort of membership fee.

Very true. Oh I'm not against the ads. RV life, Campground Report, Escape Industries, etc etc etc all provide a wonderful service much appreciated. Bless 'em all. Think of all the income them ads produce! I just want to see more listings of the latest posts.

I also totally understand about the ads. The ideal solution, if the forum software has the capability, would be to have a link at the bottom of the "Recent Posts" section that takes you to the next 15.

I would be happy with ads if they would load last when I have a slow connection. The least time that happened I had to wait almost 5 minutes while all the ads loaded before I got content.

Who opens this forum to see ads? Rather than a link to recent posts, I'd rather have a link I have to click to see "all ads."

Try the link to 'todays posts' under the quick links drop down to see a list of all recent posts ;)

I just realized this thread is about new posts when I was refering to "recent discussions." Never mind.

Thanks Janet - I had not noticed that Today's Posts feature before. I note that this is not all "recent" posts; it is specifically a search for Posts From Last Day (as the title of the resulting page says).

That could be useful, and it identifies which posts are unread by the current user, but it is not the same as a longer list of unread posts: it will not show any which are more than a day old.
