Looked At a 17B Today

We went to see a 17B today and while not disappointed we came away with a couple of questions.

Can anyone tell me what those 2 6" mushroomy protrusions on the roof are? One was adjacent to the bathroom vent, the other above the door. The owner didn't know what they were. They seemed to have gobs of rough looking caulk sealing them to the roof.

Can you get a factory power vent for the bathroom? I added a marine bilge blower to the bathroom on our current trailer and it has proven to be one of my best add-ons.

Can you get an inside switch for driver side outside light?

The 2 mushroom caps are where the vents for the black and grey tanks exit through the roof.

All Escape trailers with a bathroom now come with a power roof vent in the bathroom ceiling.

Yes you can order the driver side outside light with an interior switch.

We are looking at a spring '15 delivery or pickup.

BTW can one get theft deterrent battery boxes?

Would be best to discuss battery boxes on a new thread.
That said, the fact that they weigh about 80 lbs. is a deterrent.

Am I correct in assuming that the power bath vent cannot be retrofitted to replace the existing small square vent?

I was able to convert the small square bathroom vent into the powered vent ETI uses. The screen on the vent was damaged and you can't replace just the screen. After removing the old vent, I fabricated an aluminum plate with the appropriate hole for the new vent, one plate for inside and one for outside. The aluminum was painted to match the trailer colour. I fished power from the bathroom light.

In my experience, yes. The size of the room does not matter, if one likes a fresh smelling bathroom, having a way to exchange the air quickly, especially in a small trailer is desirable.

Okay.
We found that the max fan, being 8" away from the wet bath's door, and the ceiling vent on the roof over the wet bath take away any 'shower steam'.

Absolutely. The smaller the trailer the more important it becomes.
