Hello,
New to the forum as a member, but have been watching and learning for a little over a year now. My name is Ann and my husband and I put down our deposit for an Escape in August of last year after stopping by the factory to decide on the model we thought we wanted. I had totally ruled out the 21c because of bed size. But when we got to the factory we knew the 21c was the one that would suite us best.
We were waiting to put down our full deposit until this spring, but did a fast track under the advice of Shawn and Linda at Escape due to the Tariff window. So glad we did.
We have looked many times at Casitas. We really wanted one, but were heartbroken to realize we couldn’t come close to fitting our family in one. We bought a tent trailer instead with a 17ft box and kept it for over 10 yrs. It popped out to about 24 feet when open, had a tip out and bathroom. We had a real system down for set up, but once the kiddos moved out, we just didn’t want to set it up anymore.
We then thought, “yeah, maybe a Casita could work for us now. So, we looked again. We really liked the idea of fiberglass trailers in general, but after being in a large pop up with plenty of room and fresh air, we just couldn’t wrap our minds around the Casita.
I bought a 1984 Fleetwood Prowler in 2020 as a project. Completely tore it down to the studs and rebuilt it, from electrical to seat covers, I did it all. But, we just didn’t like the way it pulled. And, some parks don’t actually allow older trailers like that. So we sold it and the tent trailer and after a little research and seeing this forum, we found Escape. I love to Mod things up and look forward to making our new 21c our own. I have some fun ideas flipping through my head and I look forward to posting them here and on FB & Blue Sky. Just excited to take delivery and excited to be here to learn. Cheers all, Ann & Greg In Southern Oregon.

Congrats. Lots of happy 21 owners on the forum. We had a StarCraft hybrid which we were in the midst of renovating and decided the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze because it pulled like a brick.

Congratulations. Welcome to the Escape family!! Lots of great ideas here. Looking forward to seeing some of the things you do. When do you take delivery?

Welcome! We took delivery of our 21C in June 2024. Looking forward to seeing your mods. We also came from a large pop up....sometimes miss not having a sofa, but like you I don't miss the setup / tear down routine.

Lucky 🍀 you. Enjoy your trailer and I’m looking forward to seeing your mods.
I’ll keep you up in the loop! 😉

Thank you, in our pop up, we did have a sofa. However I pulled it out and made a cupboards system with a travel bar at one end. I look forward to a lot more storage and counter space!

Thank you, good thing about those old trailers is they were build like a tank. steel frame and all. But man they are a box and a real drag to pull up the Oregon coast, literally!

Congrats! We are in the exact same boat as you--20-years of pop up camping, empty nesters who no longer enjoy the pop up setup. Picking up our brand new 21C on the 21st.

21 c is a fine trailer, we had one for 3 years until we wanted a bit more room and better cold weather camping.
This is why we went with Escape and a fiberglass trailer actually. If we do decide on say, a 23, we can easily sell of 21c and go bigger. We originally looked into a 19, which would have been fine, but we figured like you, with more experience and within a few years we would be looking to upgrade because we don’t know how often we will ultimately use it. And like you we do hope to extend our camping season. Anyway, we will see how it all works out. We are excited either way. 😃
