Mattress condensation question

We are thinking about wrapping the perimeter of the mattress in our 17B with 3/4" x 10" tall polyethylene closed cell foam sheeting to help prevent condensation where our bedding touches the side walls of the trailer. We do have a Hypervent mat underneath the mattress right now, though no sidewall protection. It seems that the foam sheeting would provide better protection for the bedding than using pool noodles. I'm wondering if anyone has used used this material for that purpose and how it worked out?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions.

I've not done this effort, but sure, that would work, likely better than the pool noodles, which I believe are the same class of material that you are suggesting.

I see many people using things like hypervent or similar under their mattresses and other precautions like this posting regarding condensation under and around the bed. Is this a big issue and something I need to be doing? Is it a problem on a certain model?

A number of Escape owners have had condensation problems under or around the outside walls of their mattresses. Installing some type of venting and/or insulation in those areas is one way to help combat the problem.

We used Reflexes insulation. 18 wide, and wrapped it in a fleece blanket. Slid down between the mattress and the wall. It also makes a warm surface to touch, rather than the cold wall. Really works great.

Thanks for the info. This looks like it would work well for ventilation. I also like that the edge can be reinstalled after the material is cut to size.(y):)
