Hello....having finally made a purchase we feel comfortable making a first post even so we've been silent and invisible members for some time.
After much thought, research and conversation, the Handyman and I sold our 2003 Scamp 16 (side dinette) to the first person who came and looked at it and bought CPAHarley's Blackjack (a very gently used 2014 Escape 21) almost as soon as he put it up for sale. An unexpected serendipity allowing us to sidestep the Escape Lottery for a brand new rig.
So, here we are at Modoc Campground on Lake Strom Thurmond in mid-state SC on her maiden voyage as the newly renamed Mis-Adventure. This is a shake down cruise to orient us with all her bells and whistles in anticipation of our own Westward Madventure Part Deaux come mid-May sighting for the Escape Rally in Osoyoos, BC at the end of May.
While there may be further mods down the road, thus far we've only added shelves to the wardrobe and a riser on the step due to my vertically challenged self. In the wings is the addition of struts to hold the hatch opening in the upward position on the storage hatch under the bed. Beyond that we will see what pops up as we make her our own.
Thank you, Jim, for selling us your rig and working things out due to family and weather related issues. We love her already and look forward to many miles under her wheels with our 4Runner piloting her.
Josie and Craig
