Hi: jennykatz... #6... Go for the "King Jack" antenna. http://www.kingcontrols.com You won't regret it. At Salt Springs CG. Ocala Nat. Forest. we got at least 30 OTA channels. 6 PBS so were sure of one with Downton Abbey on Sun. eve. Alf

Finally an Escape

Alf its been a long road to get an Escape trailer . We missed the 2016 order by minutes and off course the 5.0 in Virginia I missed . My wife won out with a 21. I still like the 5.0TA but no Truck for her ? So hopefully we can get an earlier build . I do like the flat door much better (not for appearances ) but for built in screen door and easier fix if broken? The windows and shade don't really matter to me . Loree ordered the Trailer so she finally wants it . We probably will sell Snoozy in the summer . Jim

Thanks Jim

Jim Thanks for setting that up

Things that I might get depending on $US to $CD
A-5 mag wheels or just keep white one clean
B-floor flush toilet or just flush with hand thingy ?
C-inverter or buy a 2000 watt?
D-Maxx fan upgrade Do we really need this or just do it at the fan ?
E-anything I'm missing ??

I like the fan upgrade for several reasons, the remote is handy and you keep it by the bed. The smoke lens lets in natural light even some moon night. the opaque standard cover blocks all views except for making it appear to be a ceiling light, it just glows, even at night with street lights. I still have my original opaque cover from my 19 in the garage when I switched it out myself way back.
The wheel thingy, when I got a flat I realized I should have had an extra because the fixed tire is now your spare. Other wise you have to purchase a new tire. If possible I'd get 6 total and have a spare to keep inside garage and rotate all 6.

B-floor flush toilet or just flush with hand thingy ?

There's been at least one entire thread devoted to this subject. Probably more! ;D

You'll get folks saying either one works fine for them or they prefer one type over the other. Personally, I don't want to bend over that much so we went with the foot flush. It was worth the 60 bucks to me.

And who knows, you may be able to comfortably bend over now to flush, but what about later on?

Although Trailer Life did just run an article on replacing your toilet and supposedly it's only a 45 minute project. Yeah, we'll see about that! HA!

The flush hand is on the tank in my sticks 'n bricks. I have to bend slightly to flush there. Little to no difference in my trailer.

If I can't bend down to flush the toilet, I'd imagine I'd have an even harder time with hooking up to the tow, extending the jacks and almost everything else involved with setup at the site.

'bout time to brush up on the yoga if it came to be you couldn't reach the hand flush, eh? ;)

Not sure which way I will go with the flush, but the access of the hand flush would not be the deciding factor. I have never even tried the foot flush yet.

The foot flush is nice for cleaning out the tank - both hands available. You could always use Glenn's solution though and wedge a wet wipes container to hold the trap open.

I didn't care about the flush, wife did and wanted the foot flush. Now, we both love the foot flush. Go figure.

As far as the antenna goes, I have to second that. I think it was Tractors that recommended it to me. Where I park in Iowa, I have gotten 28 channels with more if I would rotate it. Loren

I haven't considered the wife factor in yet, but don't think she would care. Have you used both, and what makes the foot flush preferable.

Like the power cords, I've had both of the flush styles. For everyday use we like the foot flush, for cleaning, prefer the hand flush. Everyday ase of use for the foot flush but find it hard to hold it down while cleaning. Really no big winner for the flushers or the power cords, toss a coin.

We have had both, Jim, always the hand flush prior. She has discovered that she can conveniently use her heel to flush while still seated or on the rise and doesn't have to turn around bend over and reach. Maybe, TMI, but that's what she has reported. I've really become a fan of it now as well, it's a nice addition and one of those upgrades that cost so little it wasn't going to save the day on our build sheet if we left it off, so why not.
