My "Escape to Margaritaville" Alterations & Mods

Under bed storage mop and broom holder

Hi All,

I had some time to do a small modification to the under bed storage slide outs this weekend. Need to have a good way to store a swifter mop and a broom, so this is what I came up with.

Bought the holders from the big box store (HD) in my area. The were just over $3 bucks each. Made some mountings from some 1x2" that I had. Made my measurement and position everything in place and fasten with 1 1/4 screws on the base and a few 1" screws for the upright parts of the mount.

All is secure and is working well for our needs. Easy to get to and to put away.

Here are a few photos for your enjoyment and as always, your comments and thoughts are welcome.

Cheers to ya.......... and Happy Trails.........Jack

Hey All,

I'm still around, just been doing some traveling and I have done some mods to My "Escape to Margaritaville". They have mostly been extra lighting under the bench storage areas thus far. Will be coming up with other mods soon. Won't be long and we'll be in the dead of winter and time to do some projects.

Hand soap dispenser

HI All,

Between trips and at the request of my other half, I made a small modification / addition to my Escape 21ne.

My wife likes to keep anti-bacterial hand soap close at hand, so I added a hand soap dispenser to our kitchen sink area for easy use and limited storage.

I came up with a hand soap dispenser that is mounted to the counter. This one required a 1 1/4" hole drilled through the counter. Once I figured out its placement the drilling was no problem and just took a couple minutes. Next up was to install the dispenser and that took no time at all.

The dispenser will hold 10oz of your favorite hand soap and this model dispenser allows you to refill it from the top / above the counter, so no reaching under the counter to get tank to refill.

All and all, might have taken 30 minutes to complete and it made my other half a very happy camper.

Some time in life,,,,,,, it's the small things in life that makes a great impact on ones life. She's happy......... I'm happy.....

Here are a few photos for you to check out. The soap supply bottle is in the back of the cabinet and out of the way. Clean install.

Picked this up at one of the home improvement big box store. (low)

As always your thoughts and comments are welcome.

Cheers to ya...... and happy Trails........ Jack

FYI. If you always use antibacterial soap it will dry out your skin. Some bacteria is good. I only use it when I’ve touched an animal or they are extremely dirty. I hardly ever get sick.

Thanks Sharon for the information, I'll keep that in mind and not over do it.

PARTY LIGHTS......

H All,

Got around to do another modification / alteration to my " Escape to Margaritaville" this past weekend and was able to snap a few shots of it while camping this weekend.

I bought a set of Govee led Home permanent lights and added them to the under carriage of my Escape. I've see some folks putting out lights in strings under their trailer while parked for holiday or whatever. I went a step further to add these that I could program for whatever the occasion it was at the time. There are millions of color variations and lost of patterns or you just make up your own. Easy done from your phone in the Govee app.

It took me better part of the day to decide where I was going to a fix them to . I ran them along a planned route under the trailer and tapped them up in place. Of course this was done after I figured out how I was going to get the controller wire to the outside of the trailer and connected to the light without drilling any holes. I found they way and started out on mounting the lights. It took only 3 of the 6 strings that came with this kit. All and all the project came out very nice I think, but I'll let you guys and gals be the judge of that as I always welcome your thoughts and comments.

Colors and patterns can be changed to anything in a moment.

Here are some photos for you to enjoy.

Cheers to ya........ and Happy Trails.......... Jack

Laguna Table Leg System [post #4, page 1]

. . . Laguna Table Leg System from Luguna USA and I bought an extra mounting bracket as well to be able to mount one center of the back bench and the other a little off center on the right bench.

From the pictures it looks like your trailer has the Split Rear Bench plywood option (two access panels).
Is that correct?

If so, do you have any pictures of how you mounted the Lagun Base Plate to the rear-center-bench side wall?

Escape configuration materials state the Rear Split Bench access and the Lagun Table are not compatible options due to how Escape has constructed the split bench supports.

Hi Craig,
While we purchased our 5.0 without the split rear bench seat (first photo) I did cut the seat & added a center support to make it a split seat. I then used a heavy duty closet shelf & rod bracket to provide support for the Lagun bracket (second photo). Note, I did cut the rod support "hook" off of the bracket. The Lagun table is rock solid. Hope this helps.

Hi Craig,

My trailer was ordered with the bench seat all the way across. I took the bench seat out and cut it in half. Granted that when ETI built the structure they had a cross piece that spanned front to back. My cut on the bench was made to where each edge of the bench at the center laid on top of that support brace. I added a couple of hinges to complete the split seat.

I will this weekend, take pictures of that whole area so you can see how I mounted and braced up everything. It is rock solid and the lose of any space is minimal.

In the mean time I came up with these two photos to give you an idea, but I'll still take more for you this weekend as well.

First off in photo 9273 you can see the backside of the front panel of the bench seat wall. Yours will be just the panel, where as I cut out a square of 3/4" plywood to double that panel from the brace of the center support over to where the brace with my power shunt was mounted. Then in photo 9274 you can see the ends of the bolts coming through the panel and 3/4" plywood that mounts the Lagun bracket on the other side of this wall. Slightly off centered, not much. Then as you can see I took a couple 1"x 2" pieces of wood and made an "L" bracket then cut me a brace of 3/4" plywood to glue and screw to that "L" bracket then mounted that to the wall just to the side of where my Lagun bracket bolts came through with more screws to that wall and the floor. This brace coupled with the top brace in the middle of the seat gives you plenty of support.

I hope you can decipher what I'm trying to describe here, and I will post more photos this weekend, they are worth a million words themselves.

Hope this give you some Ideas and help

Cheers to ya......... and Happy Trails......... Jack

Hey Craig,

As promised here are more photos of my setup / bracing that I did for the Lagun system that I did in the rear of my "U" shaped dinette area. Let me know if you have any other questions. Here to help if I can.

my wife would disown me if I did that, hah hah. I had a R-G-B LED tape light in the back of my Tacoma, with a 3-slider control that let me pick everything from an astronomy friendly very dim deep red to all kinda crazy colors. My intent was deep red for star parties and a reasonable worklight for otherwise, but as usual I got a bit carried away ;) she hated that I'd leave it on purple or something when it was just parked near our camp.

now, our son, he's a Burning Man regular, and in fact has a monster art car built on a Army 5 ton 6x6 chassis.... "Stardust, the Cosmic Whale, and the Bar at the End of the Universe"...

i-2XgVwVf-X3.jpg

here they are programming the lights, Burning Man 2019 - pierce (the girl in the white jacket is holding the ipad thats running the LEDs, towards the end of the video the camera walks up to show the control panel).

Well that is a fantastic piece of art work, don't think I'll be going that far
in to the art works any time soon, BUT I am a light lover.

And on a second note I'm always hearing " IF YOU LIVE LONG ENOUGH........ YOU'LL SEE CHANGE......"
:)

Cheers to ya......... and Happy Trails........... Jack

PS. My house at Christmas...

Laguna Table Leg System Right Side

Here are a few more Luguna photos of mine with the leg assembly mounted to the right bench to show it's locations of movements from that point.

Enjoy.....

I bought a 2023 21C that came with a Luguna table. I like the side mount as the previous owners put a TV on the wall so the side mount would give more lounging space without taking it out. Thanks for sharing.

Wardrobe to Pantry

Hi All,

In the next few photos you'll be seeing how I add pull out shelves / drawers in the wardrobe of My 21NE. I found that this space would be better utilized as a pantry instead of a wardrobe..

Each shelf / drawer is 24" deep with soft close slide and oak fronts.
The slides are full extensions, so they come all the way out.

Comments are always welcome..... Enjoy.

Cheers to ya......... and Happy Trails........ Jack
Nice and very practical

Hey RAS,

Hey All,

Just a heads up on up coming project. Purchased another Lagun table system to add the trailer to have two small tables like tv-tray size. One for the each of us and a third mounting plate in the dinning area.

Should be in soon, but till then we'll be at the Christmas lights in Natchitoches, Louisiana next week.
Fiberglass gathering up that way at the Grand Ecore RV Park Dec 9-11. Should be a great turn out with many fiberglass trailers from all over. Hope to see you there if it's in your plans.

All thoughts and comments are welcome .

Cheers to ya......... and Happy Trails..........Jack
