We live in Ga. and were told our vin# has to be verified by an officer before we ca get a tag. We will travel through 12 states in 7 days with no tag and never get stopped. Has anyone else had the same experience?

Yes, as long as you have your papers you should be fine. I'm not aware of any member here on the forum who has traveled after pick up home and encountered any issues. The fun begins at home when you go to register. BTW, welcome to the forum....

We had a temp paper "plate", our state said to tape it to a window. But with the dark windows nothing is visible. No problems through 4 western states, we had a folder of Escape paperwork.

I live in Ga, and had no problem getting my tag this summer before we left to drive to Canada. They did have some trouble figuring out the value for taxes, since the sale was not in US $

WOW. Another candidate for a Georgia Rally.

I had a similar experience in '71 until I was just barely in California. I had a home built motorcycle trailer derived from an Army Spencer Trailer with no license plate, and was transferred from Valley Forge, Pa to Los Angeles, Ca. This was in June and we decided to take a northerly route. Went thru PA, DE, MD, VA, OH, IN, IL, IA, SD, WY, UT, AZ, NV, CA.

Got across the NV/CA state line and a very polite trooper ticketed me.
