Greetings fellow Escapers;

We picked up our new escape 23 on the 15th of Oct. The experience at Escape was outstanding. They conducted a very thorough PDI of all systems, answered all questions and really bent over backwards to ensure we had everything just right prior to leaving. No ask was too small and everything was very well organized, a big thanks to all the staff for a job well done.

Our shakedown trip was 5 days of dry camping, in the rain, at the lake and I’m happy to report all systems worked exactly as expected. We are very happy with our 23 floorpan and the overall functionality of the trailer, it was the right choice for us. I would be remiss not to mention how impressed I am with the craftsmanship and overall fit and finish, it just screams quality. I have owned several high end RVs over the years and this unit is easily the best I’ve ever seen. A big hats off to all the tradespeople and craftsmen at Escape, you have done an outstanding job that you should be proud of, I know I am.

I love hearing a post like this, as I have a new E23, that is supposed to be done the later part of December! What with all of those folks that have had problems with Their new trailers, it is good to hear that great RV’s are sill coming out of Escape. I think some of the problems that come up, are due to operator error. Some of Us are first time Rv’ers, and We are bound to have Our issues. I know I will. Hopefully I don’t mess up anything that is really expensive! Thanks for the post! It helps My confidence.

Hello John;
Yes it’s been my experience with these sites that folks only squawk when things are going sideways, I thought it was time folks heard a good story. If I can be of any assistance when you get the new 23 just give me a shout, I’m happy to help if I can. We love the Astoria area by the way, been there a few times. We are trying to fit a week in at a state park in the Bend area this summer if we can.

New E23 Here as of Oct 17.

Travelled from the North Texas area (Celina) to pick up our new E23 F1 on October 17. We decided to spend the USD2500 it would cost to ship the trailer.on a road trip to Chilliwack. After stops in Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, Glacier NP, the Going to the Sun Road, Vancouver and Victoria BC, we finally made it to Chilliwack.

(Note to self…Next time, ship the trailer, it will cost less)

We arrived a bit early for our appointment, and Marylin suggested breakfast at Cookie’s grill. It was excellent.

It was great to put faces to names that I had been conversing with over the last few months. Nice, caring folks.

Nicolas conducted an excellent walk thru for us. A few minor glitches were quickly dealt with and we were on our way.

Now working our way back to Texas. The trailer is meeting our expectations. Previously being an Airstream 25 owner and wanting to downsize, we found the Escape 23 offered more for less than the Airstream 23 we had our eyes on.

More later!

I have read some good stories and have read bad stories but 99% of the issues lay with components not the trailer itself. We had a 2020 19 and we had no issues but sold it last year. The couple that bought it from us contacted us this summer and said the trailer only had one little issue, the black tank connection, but they were super happy as they put a lot of miles on it.

We sold the 19 because it was just a little too small, we didn't like the climb over bed or the small dinette. We have been looking again and I keep going back to the Escape 21. We'll see.

Want to let folks who are are buying an E23 and supplying their own BlueOx Sway Pro WD hitch, let ETI know in advance. The Sway Pro is not a plug and play on the E23. The Propane tank pan has to be raised so the rotary brackets can be slid under in order to sit in the correct position on the tongue. It took some time, but the service folks made the necessary modification in order to install the Sway Pro properly.

I don't know. I don't see much difference between sleeping on the rear window side in an E19 and the window side of an E21.

If there was to be another trailer for us it'd be an E23 with bunks. :)

Our last RV was a DRV Elite Suites, 42 foot fifth wheel. We decided to change it up, tired of not fitting into those great State Parks. That’s quite the trip to be sure, I doubt $2500 would even cover one way! We also considered Airstream however the Escape came out ahead due to our ability to customize, its built for us haha. We have spent a ton of time in the San Antonio area, Castroville to be exact. We still have close friends there. Let us know how the rest of your trip unfolds.

They must have a different crew building the E23. Wish we could have been able to write a glowing email like this for our experience with our 2024 21C. I guess if you are disappointed, you are just supposed to suck it up and be quiet..

You're always free to post a thread about your unfortunate negative experiences as many other have.

But this thread about the OP's experience isn't the place for that discussion, please.

He took it there…

Don't say that!

On this forum, only positive comments are allowed, they freak out if you say anything negative. :whistling:

We can be informative and positive at the same time. I took delivery of my 2024 E23 F1 on Oct 17, 2024 in Chilliwack. Our scheduled 2 hour orientation took over 4 hours due to various glitches being corrected, Nicholas excusing himself frequently to work on another trailer, leaving for lunch with more to do while we wait in reception, finishing close to 3:30pm. We then scurry thru Sumas to our first stop in Mt Vernon, WA., finding after setup that various kitchen drawers won’t open due to backed out drawer glide fasteners, loose drawer glides due to stripped fasteners and split and insufficient wood backing in the cabinets trying to hold the fasteners.
(Note: We left the stuck drawers in place till we arrived home. The stuck drawers were then carefully extricated, all drawers were removed, the interior of the cabinetry framing photographed, glides removed, cabinetry photoed again to document what was described above and report same back to Chilliwack)

Positive Solution: Since the original kitchen drawer glides in the E23 made the drawers very hard to open without bracing oneself and yanking vigorously on the drawer, we decided to replace all the kitchen drawers with high quality soft close ball bearing drawer glides.
The insufficient framing around the drawers required an additional mounting hole to be drilled in the glide to enable the front mounting screw to have sufficient land.

More improvements await. (Should probably start a dedicated thread)

I think the E23 is a good product. Fine tuning it will be an adventurous process, both for Chilliwack and us owners.
