wow I be so upset after buying a new trailer unseen and having it delivered with all the issues you had. I just don't understand why escape keeps sending out trailer like this. hopefully you get to use it this year.
they are acrylicAre the dented windows glass or acrylic plastic?
They are acrylic windows. Are the dented windows glass or acrylic plastic
Thank you! I agree.. A new unit would have been much better!! At this point we have it back and have noticed the vinyl flooring must have been laid OVER the old as the bottoms of the cupboards are hitting on the trim.. we can see all the trim was pulled off new flooring layed then trim put back on and we are guessing over the old scratch flooring since the trim pieces are now allowing things to close on the bottom all the way! The cupboards are popping open when traveling since the bottoms are not really closed. The windows are hopefully a recall item, and some trim pieces look scratched which they said they will replace. We just want to travel this season and get addressed with them after since they said the windows, they are still waiting to hear back about a recall for the dents. We canceled many booked trips last year due to the issues with the trailer. We bought our 2018 21C brand new and never had even one issue with it!! Hence why we bought again. You are right, it is not the same ... will always have patches... fixes. We paid a LOT for a MESS.... not to mention our missed trips last year and our time to chase all the issues down!! I am not sure where they will go from here. Hubbie has not let them know about the cupboard issue. He is so upset, I think he wants to just have a nice summer vacation season and deal with it after! At this point it is usable just ugly due to every window dented opening cupboards.....UGH?!!?!? OH, I forgot to mention the ground for the shore power plug to the trailer was not connected all the way. Hubbie fixed it! Our power kept going off not charging. He said it could have caused a FIRE! He bought a new entire different plug that snaps in that we saw others had used. A marine-style snap-in shore power plug. It is nice now but hubbie had to spend his time installing and we paid for the plug. OH... and to get it off the trailer when we got it back from repairs.... it was on the trailer backwards so he had to back is f250 up to the huge trailer on a semi, hook to the unit it put the escape on 2 wheels , so hopefully the frame is okay.....coming down.. it was VERY SCARY such a steep ramp down and angle to hook in to even get it down... But due to the angle, the whole entire thing was on two wheels! YEAH!! CRAZY! We are hoping to just travel and have fun this summer and deal with the remaining issues after. So sad it has been such a horrible and time consuming experience!I'm disappointed that Escape did not step up and just take the trailer back and offer you a new build. With all the leaks, gel coat replacement, etc. etc. there is a certain point when so many things need to be repaired that it just makes sense to do so, and seems to me that is the case here.
If I were Escape, I would want it back so I could look over to figure out what he heck we did wrong. Then make appropriate changes to production so it does not happen again, fix the returned trailer in-house and sell it as a demo model under full warranty. You would have a new trailer, which I hope they would go over carefully to ensure it was issue free. It's bad enough you had to cancel the trips you planned.
Best wishes to you going forward, I hope this gets resolved to your complete satisfaction.
Something unique? We just had our E23 delivered last month and the larger windows have "dents." I mentioned it to the delivery driver who said "they're all like that. Granted, he's not an ETI employee and certainly didn't want to get into quality conversations, but he seemed trustworthy enough to assume he wasn't lying about it.Sorry that you've gotten off to a poor start with your Escape.
Every once in awhile someone posts something unique and your window issue is one of them. I don't remember anyone having this issue previously.
I've vacuum formed plastics to make bowl shaped objects. But that involves heating the plastic and then applying a vacuum. I can't think of a logical explanation for your situation especially since it involves more than one window. Since other owners have experienced this issue I'm pretty sure there's going to be an explanation sooner than later. I've seen many similar much older windows in caravans in Europe and Russia and they obviously didn't have that kind of problem. Hope the replacements don't develop a similar issue.
Seems like you've been quite patient through this process. Hope you're on the road making memories soon.
