Hello from Kansas City, Missouri. We are Greg and Laurie Byrd and we are new to the family of Escape owners. We purchased a 21 NE and took delivery in March of 2025.

We will be spending our first several trips in NW Arkansas and SW Missouri. We will spend the 4th of July in the Badlands and going to Mt. Rushmore!

I would love to see pictures of other 21NE kitchen and cabinet storage solutions. We travel with a 35 pound Brittany and while he doesn’t take up much room we do like to keep everything tucked in and put up as he spends time alone in the trailer when we leave for a few hours.

Here’s our Escape the day we took her on her maiden voyage!

Welcome to the club Byrdie! We’re on the other side of the state.

There is a ton of storage in our 21C and the only thing we’ve used as a storage solution are these little cheap drawer organizers we got from Wally World.

Welcome to the forum, from Scott and Kimberly Byrd, formerly of Overland Park, now The Woodlands, TX.

Received our 21C in January. Our favorite trips included SW Arkansas. Hope you post pics and give us ideas from NW Arkansas.

If you are able, by attending a rally of fiberglass campers, it’s highly likely that there will be some Escapes there. The camper tours are usually one of the activities and an opportunity to tour campers like yours or very similar. You can ask questions, take notes, learn where modification equipment was purchased, take photos and get contact information so you can contact the owners at a later date if you have additional questions. How’s that for a run on sentence? Hoping to see you at a rally one of these days.
If you are interested in a unique boondocking experience it exists at the Badlands. Near the western entrance of the park you will see a tall communications tower. There’s a field driveway and a two track back past the tower. Take that if it’s been dry. It will end at the edge of the main badlands canyon. There is dispersed camping there. You can camp as close to the edge of the wall as you feel comfortable. It is free with no services. There will be a number of campers up and
down from you. About sunset as you set outside your camper facing east looking out over the canyon, the local population of coyotes will engage in a serenade that is akin to a Doppler Effect of competition barking. You and your Brittany will enjoy that. In the Black hills we always drive the wildlife loop twice, stop at the Badger Hole Cabin, Sylvan Lake, Iron Mountain Road, Needles highway, and other popular attractions. I like the Mammoth dig near Hot springs too. The Angostura campground near Hot Springs is on a state Recreation Lake and is a good place to camp. The grocery store in Hot Springs is good as well as the one in Custer when you can buy some Buffalo burger.
25 plus trips to South Dakota and I’m still not tired of it.

We are also working on organizing our new 21C. Always looking for good ideas.

side note: We spent 10 days in the Black Hills and Badlands last fall (in our former HW pop up) and loved it. While the Badlands are fabulous, imo, the Black Hills are an absolute jewel, and we could have spent a lot more time there. Hopefully will go back in our travels. Consider scheduling some extended time there. There are endless caves, hikes, wildlife, and historical sites to explore. We went in mid-September, so finding sites wasn't an issue, but if dry-camping isn't your thing there are many private campgrounds with hookups in the Black Hills area and a decent KOA in the Badlands with good shade and hook-ups. Not fancy by KOA terms, but certainly clean and well run. There are a LOT of options, though, depending on your camping style.
