New Escape Website!

Jim, I'm intrigued. So what was the layout of the original 19' Plan A?

Greg

The fridge and wardrobe, and the kitchen counter were reversed. The original reason for this was roof support. I proposed to Reace to do a model keeping all the bulky stuff to one side, which also kept the kitchen to the side with the view. He agreed, and just used the gable to stiffen the roof. Everyone but one person preferred this amongst the original buyers, so he just dropped the other one. This change also gave a larger counter space, but did leave the wardrobe a bit smaller.

I was wondering if there was something wrong with my computer. I was thinking I had to make a adjustment to make the pictures appear clearer.

Perhaps they had to reduce the # of pixels to keep the size of the website under control...and some of us had to reduce the pictures to begin with in order to send them so that may be degrading the sharpness. Nice to see them anyway!

The discussion is about the "Customer Photos" on the Escape Trailer Industries site, not this forum.
And, they are slightly fuzzy. Has anybody emailed Escape?

They are 15-16KB .jpg pictures - quite low resolution, hence not as sharp but quicker to load.

These images are just 16 kb, 325x194 pixel files ....... they will never be tack sharp, and if you did sharpen them the image would just pixelate.

I found myself getting annoyed that there is no longer a drop-down box under the "Trailers" tab and that the only page is the array of all the units. Only after clicking on a particular unit can one choose Layout, Accessories, etc. That being said, I realized how lazy one can get on the internet. At any rate, I finally loaded all the floor plans into my Picasa so I can easily flip back and forth from one to another to see what people on this forum are referring to when comparing some issue.

I agree with Karen. While I do like the new look, I also find it much harder to locate the essential stuff, like the trailer models.

The added detail in the floor plans is nice.

The links to the other pages need to be across the top of the home page. The most important link for a potential customer is to the trailer page and that's buried down the bottom of the page. So are the Faqs and the Escape story and the other key info that makes Escape unique.

I'd replace the customer photos on the home page with a cycle of the five models, where if I clicked I would go to the page about that model. The most important thing is to hook the prospects on the product and then they'll look at the customer photos, delivery dates, etc.

I must have a different view than you.... this is the top of the home page when viewed with IE 9

New Escape Website

I have Safari too, and the drop downs are not there. I just tried it in Firefox and Chrome on my Mac, and the dropdowns are there.

They are there in Safari on my iPad. The site actually looks good on the iPad, much better than in Safari on my Mac.

Here's the screen shot of what I'm seeing on my Mac

I'm running Safari 5, which is the latest version the operating system will support. It looks like the later versions work better. I tend to use Chrome and Firefox for business, but I guess I'll switch for the Escape site.

I wonder if the missing dropdowns are a problem on some of the older versions of IE or any of the other browsers?
