"I've Ordered My New Escape" - or something similar.

Ellen and I have ordered a new trailer, changing our approach from the 17B to the 5.0

I have thought about announcing the upcoming birth but did not know where to post. "Modifications and Alterations" seems to be for completed trailers,"Problem Solving" possibly could be where to post, but a new trailer should not be a problem.

If there was a location to discuss the options and excitement of the new trailers for members. Maybe pictures of interior choices, all those questions about options.

I know there are members who post more than I, and have a better feel for the direction of the site.

Just a thought on a Saturday morning.

General discussion works unless the moderator wants to add. I'm curious as to what helped change your mind in going from a 17 to a 5th?

Yup

The full time bedroom separate from the rest of the trailer, and the lengthwise bed so we do not "have" to climb over one another.

Another positive to the layout of the 5.0 is that there is more food prep space available using the flip up counter addition as well as the dinette. With the 17B we left the bed made up all the time.

Like all others I am concerned with the loss of truck bed storage converting to a fifth wheel. Although this will give me an opportunity to build a custom storage box for the truck bed, and who doesn't like a good woodworking project.

Now it is time to over think every option and colour choice. :)

Hi Brett,

You will love the 5.0. We finished a four-month trip this summer from south Texas to Alaska and back (with a side trip to the Escape rally) in ours. The out-of-the-way bedroom was a plus, but the big deal is the room with a view. Everyplace we backed into was such a treat to view with the large windows, especially when the weather was cold and rainy. We could enjoy the view drinking hot chocolate.

Interesting suggestion to create a new heading to announce a new trailer. Not sure it will get that much attention, but you never know. I agree it is sometimes difficult to post something that may not fit the intended heading.

Have fun designing your new 5.0

I think the "Show your Escape" category pretty well fits the bill for announcing a new upcoming Escape to the family. It's always fun to read about the option selection process and when it gets close see some factory pics.

That's EXACTLY when the 21' trailer was in discussion I talked about a rear dinette and front bedroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After some others here telling me about "Show Your Escape" I now see where to post the story of our new trailer.

Hi Donna,

The view out the rear dining room windows was the largest single reason for us to change from the Casita to the 5.0. This summer we were rewarded with many stunning scenes. Mountains, glaciers, eagles and other wildlife joined us for breakfast.

Beautiful photo, Vicki.

Don't know whether he is contemplating a new forum category or the 21' or maybe that beautiful scene out of your window!
